A county judge in Arkansas was telling my brother about how some mussels in a creek prevented the county from building a bridge. He said, “Next time we plan on building a bridge I’m going to hire some kids to get all the mussels and move them somewhere else.”

I have a buddy who’s a Federal Forestry worker. Sometimes he helps with rare Indian artifacts. Some lefty wanted to stop a developer, so he salted the work site with Indian relics. But he’d bought them from all over. It stopped the work for a short time, then the federal Indian conservation head, a woman, realized what was going on and re-authorized work. They prosecuted the guy who did it. (Don’t recall how it came out.)
