The Guilford County Department of Social Services (DSS) scandal has left a mountain of questions in its wake as to how it came about, and now county officials investigating the matter are finally starting to get some answers.
**SNIP**
One Guilford County DSS employee told the Rhino Times this week that the problems in the department go very deep and this latest crisis is just one manifestation of those issues.
No management manages, the employee wrote in an email. No policy is completely followed. People are authorized benefits that are not thoroughly evaluated. Workers have to keep authorizing clients that have not been reviewed fully. People arent denied automatically because they would appeal wrongful denials.
The employee went on to state that in the past there has been favoritism in promotions and that some eligible clients for services have been denied and forgotten about, while other applicants werent vetted properly before receiving benefits. The employee also said that DSS employees have been instructed not to talk to the media.

I live in a county of roughly 30,000. 20% (6000) are on SNAP. They are perhaps the biggest identifiable group of customers Walmart here has. Because nearly everyone knows everyone here, or their momma, daddy, sister, brother, cousin, I think whoever is in charge of the program is a little bit too lax in verifying eligibility. Just a thought. Other counties to the south have a much less percentage on it.
Its the biggest cash cow for local economies - I don’t expect them to tighten standards or to make life tough for the local Wal-mart.
SNAP and EBT are here more or less to stay.
I love that term .”clients” - I thought clients actually PAY for something.
The waste & corruption is rampant. Someone, please, stop the madness. My head is about to explode.
The same description applies to the White House
The only thing really managed is the daily trip schedule and the associated propaganda for the teleprompter.
These programs are funded by a bankrupt entity, the US government. I don't think they are sustainable.
Let’s just say that Holder’s people were in charge of the department
For those that may be wondering, I did, Guilford county surrounds Greensboro, NC.
The disease of Obamanation continues to spread.
“Lets just say that Holders people were in charge of the department”
That’s pretty much the way I had it figured.
