Indictment: Kidnapping crew had wrong address, took wrong person
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | April 22, 2014 | Marcus K. Garner

An Atlanta kidnapping crew scheming to nab a North Carolina prosecutor went to the wrong address and, instead, grabbed the attorney’s father, authorities said. Prosecutors said a hired crew was contracted to snatch his daughter, Wake County, N.C., Assistant District Attorney Colleen Janssen, at the behest of a man she had put in prison for life.

Twice, apparent bungling led the cohorts to the wrong place, according to the indictment obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In March, an Internet search led the alleged conspirators to an address for the North Carolina prosecutor … in Louisiana. So an armed team rented a car and drove to Louisiana on what proved to be a fruitless mission. “Despite traveling from Georgia to Louisiana and taking various other steps to carry out the kidnapping plot, the participants aborted the plot prior to completing the abduction,” the indictment read.

And on April 5, prosecutors said four people drove a rented car from Atlanta to Wake Forest with information they believed pointed them to the home of Colleen Janssen.

They found, instead, her father, and according to prosecutors, left a receipt at Frank Janssen’s home from a meal stop they made earlier that day en route to their target. Investigators would eventually find the receipt and track it to a McDonald’s restaurant in Lexington, S.C., where surveillance video would help identify two of the suspects, authorities said.

Frank Janssen was pistol-whipped and shocked with an electronic stun gun multiple times, both at his home as he was taken and on the trip back to Atlanta, prosecutors said. Five days later, an FBI kidnap rescue unit located and freed him safely from a southeast Atlanta apartment just as the crew made plans to kill him, authorities said.

I wonder if the Coen brothers are working on the script yet.

Oddly enough, I have seen the name “Quantavious” before.

In a crime report.

As the arrested suspect.

Perhaps it’s not so odd after all ...

*********

And... You are not alone. I’ve seen the name in identical circumstances.

It seems to be falling into disfavor.

It is a good thing that Mr. Janssen was rescued, no doubt.

I bet all the drug dealers in that housing complex soiled their pants at the sight of all those LEOs.

LOL! You KNOW it. Probably 100K worth of narcotics went down the toilets all at once too.

You mean Quintillius?
Or Quinctilius?

Quinctilius lost 3 Legions to the Germans in the Battle of Teutoburg Forest.

Amish do have a pattern of naming their kids after white Romans and Greeks. Oh the irony....

The Coen brothers ... I could see that, except the Bloods might want to do a hit on them for dissing their homies.

It sounds like those with the name “Quantavious” are possibly being profiled and arrested at a higher rate than those with other names.

Melton (bloods gang bigwig) was put into prison by the prosecutor. He organized the kidnapping from his prison cell using a smuggled cellphone to communicate to other bloods members. He also orchestrated the bloods version of the keystone cops on how to kidnap and later how to kill and hide the body. Got a feeling the intercepted texts was the blood-trail. All the players and events went across state lines, therefore the feds involvement...

First, these animals all need to fry....

Second, whoever smuggled the cellphone into Melton needs to do some hard-time as well...

Patricia Kramer, the 29-year-old woman prosecutors said funded both kidnapping trips and did the research that found not one, but two wrong addresses.

The fact that the voice of your SatNav happens to be female should not lead you to let a woman administer to your navigational requirements.

(Sorry ladies! - a time-proven truism.)

“an Internet search led the alleged conspirators to an address for the North Carolina prosecutor … in Louisiana. So an armed team rented a car and drove to Louisiana on what proved to be a fruitless mission.”

Why would they think that a NC prosecuter lived in Louisiana? I bet they got down there and found some shack in the woods kind of place and decided that a prosecuter would have the means to afford better.

Word has it that Patricia Kramer has turned herself in. As per a AP headline, surrendered to the FBI in Atlanta. Mr. Tibbs was arrested in Philly.

Actually they went to Louisiana to whack the defense attorney that handled homie’s defense on the murderer charge. I know it wasn’t clear from the way it was presented.

It used to be kidnappers got the electric chair. What do they get nowadays?... The new “non-discriminatory” guidelines or a heavily plea-bargained sentence?

I have a feeling one of Jakym’s parents smoked Camel cigarettes and had a pack lying around the hospital room. Call it a hunch (or a hump).

If there was a pack of smokes laying around the hospital room after his birf, he would have, undoubtedly, been named Jakym Kool Tibbs, Jakym Salem Ultra Light 100s Soft Pack Tibbs, or Jakym Newport Alive With Pleasure Tibbs.
