Felon Gary George clears hurdle to run against Gwen Moore (WI)

Madison — Felon and former state Sen. Gary George will be able to mount his long-shot primary challenge to U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore after all.

The state elections board voted unanimously to reject a challenge to George's nomination signatures and allow him on the ballot to challenge fellow Democrat Moore for Congress. The Government Accountability Board met at the Capitol on Tuesday to certify candidates for the Aug. 12 ballot.

Milwaukee union official Sheila Cochran had challenged hundreds of the signatures George submitted on his nomination papers, saying they were collected by convicted felons, among other problems. Board staff said, however, that those signatures had to be accepted under state law because the felons had already completed their probation and other aspects of their sentences.

GAB staff recommended to the board that George be allowed on the ballot after having submitted 1,391 valid signatures — well above the 1,000 minimum needed to be placed on the primary ballot.

[the GAB rejected challenge] ■ Liberal protester and habitual Segway rider Jeremy Ryan in his GOP primary challenge to U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan of Janesville. By a vote of 5-1, with GAB member Harold Froehlich voting no, the board found that Republicans had failed to prove their claim that Jeremy Ryan misrepresented his nominating papers to voters by saying they were a petition to legalize marijuana.

So! If I read this correctly, Segway rider, Jeremy Ryan will challenge US Rep. Paul Ryan in the Republican Primary. You don’t suppose that is intended to confuse the voters, do you?

Is Gwen’s son Supreme Solar Allah going to be slashing her opponent’s campaign vehicles tires?

You will notice that they list Gary George as living “in Grafton”. He has lived in Grafton for years while representing a district in central Milwaukee, 30 miles away. Tell me how that works?

He used to keep an apartment in Milwaukee while he kept his kids in suburban schools. Is he going to try that again?

I think I heard that they voted to let Brett (Nutjob) Halsey on the ballot in the primary versus Mary Burke, LOL!

This year is going to be a bloodbath for incumbent Dems...and I cannot WAIT!

Gwen Moore is the stupidest thing on two legs in this state...and that’s counting Circus Dogs!

I don’t countenance felons in office, but George would be better than Moore. He’s smarter, and he used to co-operate on occasion with the Republicans.

Gary is infinitely more intelligent than Gwen, but corrupt as hell. A typical democrat dilemma, choose between the corrupt or the stupid.

In WI (as well as DC) the laws do not apply to liberals. That said, it will be good that the moron will have to fight off a challenger in the primary. Maybe that will deplete her funds so that Sebring has a chance. I’m not holding my breath though.

Exactly! Making Dems spend their ill-gotten gains in primary fights makes me giddy with delight! :)

You think that Gwen is not corrupt? I wouldn’t bet on it.
