"Rumors are flying around the internet that this glorious and holy Heckler & Koch 416 is the carbine that took down the s- stain Osama Bin Laden on May 2, 2010 in Pakistan. According to many sources, the weapon used was a sound supressed H&K 416 5.56x45mm assault carbine with all manner of toys-on-rails (FWS covered the gun hunt back in 2010). More evidence was mounted that the 416 was the correct firearm used, by its appearance in the 2012 film Zero Dark Thirty in the hands of ST6 Operators on the faithful mission and the 2012 book No Easy Day by Mark Owen, who also mentions the use of the H&K 416. For those not in the know, the 416 is an improved various of the Colt M4A1 Carbine and was developed by H&K in America with input from former DELTA Operators. This was a military firearm developed for missions just like Operation: NEPTUNE SPEAR. Since 2005, the H&K 416 has found itself in the hands of SWAT Teams, TIER-1 groups, the US Marines, and various European nations as their primary weapon. So, is this really the gun that killed UBL? This specific H&K 416 was outed by none other than former DELTA Operator Larry Vickers, who helped with the 416 development project. To me, and I am a REMF, this assault carbine looks correct for the perimeters of the mission and other pics of TIER-1 used 416s. If this is indeed the gun that took down UBL, than it needs to be an museum." - William http://futurewarstories.blogspot.com/2014/03/fws-news-feed-is-this-gun-that-killed.html
Ohhhhhh, gun porn!!!
;-)
is this the one Obama used when he piloted the SR71 then repelled down from the secret helo, wearing a tuxedo, hold a cigar and a martini while directing the other operatives and taking out the guards with precision hip shots and nailing Bin Laden between the eyes before saving the children?
Nice, but I don’t believe any of the Bin Laden story.
I still remain somewhat skeptical of the OBL raid and his death as presented. Were there any certified photos of the dead OBL? The burial at sea was quite bizarre.
Gun Porn Ping!
Expensive and hard to get ammo and the H&K price tag. BTW “SEAL Team 6” hasn’t been called DEVGRU for sometime now.
That is absolutely, positively, without a doubt...an official, real-life “assault weapon”.
Quick, somebody show it to a liberal...and watch the teeth-gnashing, screaming Mimi, epileptic seizure, crying tears of hate rampage begin...
It was 2011.
I saw this article on the Easy Bake Gun Club site last week.
It kinda inspired me to make the plunge into building my first AR.
Is the H&K piston operated?
That gun is worth a lot more than 11 thou to the new Caliph.
EoTech would be about 7-800 for the NVG capable one. I cant see DEVGRU using non NVG optics.
I have gone backward on my M4’s. I took off all the ACOG’s and lasers. Makes it easier to quick fire when hunting hogs at night. I would like a suppressor though.
Are there feeding or extraction issues to expect with a pistol with a 10.5" carbine length gas port barrel and a pistol buffer tube? Feeding it with SS109/M855 surplus. Anyone?
