"High Cap Freedom" (The Sixth Reason)
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership ^ | Copyright 2011 | By Kirby Ferris

After having formally launched JPFO’s “High Capacity Freedom” campaign (aka “High Cap Freedom”), JPFO’s Rabbi Dovid Bendory listed five reasons why you would WANT (not “need”) a high capacity ammunition magazine.

We purposely held back at that time the crucial “Sixth Reason”. It has “stand alone” significance, and is probably the most important reason for an armed citizenry to “keep and bear” significant weaponry and ammunition capacity.

It has been called the “elephant in the room” of American gun rights. Few in the Second Amendment movement are comfortable contemplating this critical issue. The matter is simple: “We the People”, as a coast to coast and border to border conglomerate, must retain the armed might to, FAILING ALL OTHER RECOURSE, overthrow our own government. It is a gut wrenching and heartbreaking option, but an option that must be potently retained for the sake of our liberty and the liberty of our descendants.

The Declaration of Independence spells out this unalienable right to revolt, and lists some of the basic reasons for which it might be exercised. Despite what the liars of the ADL and Southern Poverty Law Center might blather, this concept is not something new that has sprouted from the minds of “seditionists” and “insurrectionists” (their new code words for determined American gun owners).

The Second Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights for predominantly this purpose, to warn off tyrants. The States are to remain free. State Militias were to deter the intrusive potential of a national standing army. Defense against foreign invasion was a secondary, not the primary, motivation for penning 2A.

The Founders had an instinctive distrust of government, and especially a centralized Federal government that might someday drift towards the tyranny of a monarchy. At the time of the writing of the Bill of Rights this distrust had become deep and profound. America had just cast off the authoritarian rule of England and was in absolutely no mind to allow such tyranny and despotism to rise again … from whatever quarter.

To realistically achieve this “détente” or “balance of power” with the Federal government and the heavy handed bureaucracies under its control, the American citizenry must now have, as much as ever, some semblance of parity in regards to weaponry.

The Founders' distrust of government has proven true on an international scale. Governments gone bad have been far too frequent, most horrifically in the last hundred years of world history. The death toll of citizens disarmed and then murdered by their own governments, or factions supported by those governments, is simply appalling. See:"Innocents Betrayed"

The Second Amendment, unarguably meant to establish and maintain a widely armed citizenry, is the guardian against home grown tyranny. It is the only true guarantee that the power resides with the people, regardless of the moral fiber of the politicians in power. Elections are only effective if they remain honest. The somber truth is that freedom’s “bottom line” remains the "bullet box", not the ballot box. Were it not so, but it is.

This is why the Second Amendment made no limitation on the type of personal firearms it covered. It was obvious and understood that the citizens’ standard would at least be equal to the standard of a common soldier.

Our soldiers can pack 30 round ammunition magazines with their AR15s. Why shouldn’t we? Parity of weaponry was the standard in 1791, when the Bill of Rights was penned, and it remained the standard for more than 140 of our nation’s first years.

The irony of this modern debate over so-called “assault weapons” and “high capacity ammunition magazines” is accentuated by the fact that, up until 1934, American citizens could lawfully own unregistered machine guns! Again, that’s more than 140 years of American history wherein the citizen could arm him or herself on equal to a foot soldier. How come, all of a sudden, this historical parity, this absolutely logical “balance of power”, is in question today?

The answer? Because the elitists and authoritarians who lust to rule over us want the citizenry, “We the Little People”, completely disarmed. They want a neutered flock of disarmed and obedient subjects, a state of affairs similar to that of Britain, France, Germany or Japan.

But what are the elites in America stuck with now? As citizens, en masse, our combined might comprises at least EIGHTY MILLION GUN OWNERS.

This somber reality remains an armed deterrent, a deep and rumbling reminder to the police forces and military forces that, at present, still loyally serve us.

No, nuclear weapons and other "WMDs" would not be part of the parity equation. This is a flippant red herring bandied about by the shills of the victim disarmament crowd. A Second American Revolution would not take place on battle fields. It would take place door to door, block to block, rock to rock, and tree to tree.

No treasonous cop or treasonous soldier would feel safe anywhere. There are THREE HUNDRED MILLION privately owned firearms out here. And billions of rounds of ammunition. No other nation’s citizenry presents that quiet and steady warning to its government. No other nation’s citizenry (except perhaps Switzerland) has so many civilians capable of one-inch groups at one hundred yards.

To attempt to counteract this obvious state of affairs, there has arisen a faction of the liberal wing arrayed against gun ownership that embraces the psychological warfare tactic, the “roll over and die” mind set.

This is the “resistance is futile” crowd. These moral weaklings mock the idea that a free man or woman might step up to defend their freedom and the freedom of their loved ones. Many of these types are unreachable with either fact or logic.

However, here is the fundamental reality of the situation:

The combined armed forces of the United States amounts to about 1.4 million soldiers. All the police forces of this nation combined amounts to about 800,000 police officers. Call this combined figure 2.2 million armed individuals who could forcibly inflict a tyrannical government’s will upon the citizenry … if they “followed orders” without question.

In reality, many or most of these loyal men and women would not go along with a despotic turn of events. So let’s, in a worst case scenario, assume that there are 500,000 of the “just following orders” types in our police forces and military forces. This amount is purposely inflated. More accurate guesses of the potential for treason in the armed forces and police are at about the five percent level. To verify this estimate, ask any loyal cop or soldier their opinion on how it would pan out.

Therefore, if (at the very most) 500,000 traitors showed their true colors, they would go to work each day with EIGHTY MILLION American gun owners watching their every move.

They would be outnumbered by 160 to 1.

Think about it. It’s not a good job description.

This is why the elitists and the authoritarians in our government and burgeoning bureaucracies want the (their?) cops and soldiers to have high capacity ammo mags … but not you. The Schumers and Bloombergs (and a disgusting line up of big city police chiefs) yelp all day long about “protecting our police”, but conveniently forget the fact that few American gun owners want the cops hindered by magazine limitations or rifle function limitations. We simply demand the same for ourselves.

So, the next time someone skirts the issue of the “elephant in the room”, quietly and somberly remind that person what the Second Amendment really intends.

Now, in conjunction with JPFO’s “High Cap Freedom” campaign, keep buying those “high capacity” magazines for your pistols and rifles.

Let’s get millions upon millions of them into citizens’ hands. A magazine ban is coming, either now, or when the inevitable “Loughner II” occurs.

Since 1968, modern “gun control” legislation has depended upon the acts of “crazed lone gunmen” to achieve its insidious goals. There will unfortunately be another “crazed lone gunman”. Whether propitious or programmed, an act of lunatic mayhem would seem as inevitable as the next earthquake.

Prepare now. Exercise your “High Cap Freedom” while you still can.

In my opinionated opinion, everyone on the right needs to stop responding to liberals when they equate gun control with crime. We need to completely stop responding to the (false) idea that 2A had anything to do with personal protection when it was written. A man's right to defend and protect himself and his family is innate and requires no enumeration.

We must take control of the terms of the debate. We must always direct the issue back to tyranny in concept, tyranny in history and tyranny *right now*.

The Liberal argument against the Second Amendment always includes, so you think you should be able to own a Bazooka?

I always say yes, the Bazooka is a defensive Weapon, just like all other Firearms.

You then inform them that nearly 70% of the Cannons used by the Colonists against the British were Privately owned.

My favorite is the argument that we should only be able to own Muskets since they were the Weapons of the time the Second Amendment was penned. The correct response is, I guess that applies to Printing Presses as well.

A second American revolution would be a tragedy of indescribable proportions. Everybody assumes that whatever war they are about to engage in will be over by Christmas, that the “bad guys” will collapse due to their own evil, that they have no will to fight. Civil wars are usually long and much bloodier than wars between nations. Studies show the more other states interfere the longer and bloodier the conflict gets. Does anybody think China and Russia would stand clear and let us fight? No. They’ll diddle as much as the feel safe doing so. Which side will individual subs, surface ships and army groups come down on? Will they shoot at each other?

Sure, keep and bear arms. Get training. But fully engage in the political process too. Be prepared for any contingency, but fight first and hardest in the political arena. The tragedy of a civil war is too real to risk.

Yes, the GOP will continue to give us bad candidates. That’s what they do. We need to replace the powers that be there first.

Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American... [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. --Tench Coxe, Delegate to the Continental Congress, in the Pennsyvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

“Trophies to Be Made Legal in Program Under National Firearms Act
Machineguns and machine pistols, war trophies of foreign make, must be registered and deactivated to bring their possessions within the law.
For this purpose Treasury Department operatives will establish offices at police headquarters this morning and will maintain a 12-hour schedule for the next three days, from 9:00 a. m to 9:00 p. m.
Veterans possessing any firearm of foreign make can qualify themselves to keep their souvenirs lawfully by bringing them to police headquarters on any of the days today through Thursday.
After registrations, deactivation of the weapons makes them unserviceable but in no way mars the appearance of the guns as souvenirs. All guns are duly returned to their owners. Registration of guns is a nationwide program. Investigations made in recent months under the National Firearms Act have a bearing on the risk and problem of exceptionally dangerous war trophy weapons, brought or shipped to this country by veterans, falling into unauthorized hands by theft or unrecorded transfer and being put to unlawful uses never intended or contemplated by the veteran.
Already there have been committed a large number of major crimes in various sections of the country, where foreign automatic weapons, introduced as war trophies or souvenirs were used. The drive cf the Treasury Department is aimed at preventing these weapons and firearms from falling into the hands of gangsters, racketeers, bank robbers and other types of criminals”
“The Alcohol Tax Unit, Bureau of Internal Revenue, is charged with the enforcement of the National Firearms Act, which provides a penalty not to exceed $2,000 or imprisonment not to exceed five years, or both, in the event a person is convicted of violating any provisions of the Act. Veterans, register your foreign weapons today!” Nov 19 1946 “Plattsburgh Press Republican”

Here`s yur bazooka legal til 1968- hmmm that`s 200 years legal, of all of a sudden illegal: Hillbillies dun pay no attention to this illegal stupid communist 1968 law up`n the mountains here

“ALBANY, NY * — Servicemen.
ex-servicemen and others who have certain types
of unregistered war trophies as souvenirs may be in violation of the Gun Control Act of 1968.
unless these weapons or devices are registered with the Internal Revenue Service by Dec 1. An Internal Revenue spokesman said that machine guns, sawed-off shotguns, sawed-off rifles, bazookas, rockets, mortars, bombs, mines, grenades and similar destructive devices that have been retained as souvenirs or war trophies must be registered or turned in by June deadline.
Representatives of the IRS Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division offer assistance registering
or disposing of any such weapons or devices, he said. Owners should not bring the weapon or device to the IRS but should call, write or visit the nearest Alcohol and Tobacco Tax or other IRS office for information and assistance-— The law provides that those who fail to register or dispose of the specified firearms or destructive devices which they possess, may be subject to imprisonment up to 10 years, fines up to $10,000. or both Civil penalties can also be imposed and property forfeitures take place”

You interchange civil war with revolution.

The best way to prevent such a thing is to be sure that our government respects our potential for resistance.

Political process is good and fine. But eventually and inevitably leads to just where we are right now.

It is my contention that the only real reason Obozo (and his passive Republican enablers) hasn’t instituted a genuine dictatorship is the number of recalcitrant gun owners and their firearms.

As long as the liberal’s *fear* of we 2A nuts is equal to or greater than their hate of us, we will survive.

A sizable percentage of libs in this country would very much like to ship [former] gun owners off to reeducation caps after confiscating our guns. Do not doubt that.

My two cents worth; well actually comments.

First, about fully automatic weapons. Very old issues of National Geographic magazines contained ads for Thompson Sub-Machine guns. one picture that stuck in my mind was a drawing of a cowboy chasing off rustlers from his ranch house, at night. with a Thompson.

Second, how did law abiding Americans lose this inalienable right? During the “gang” wars of the 1920s and early 1930s the gangs armed themselves with various automatic weapons primarily BARs and Thompsons. The Feb 14, 1929 St Valentine’s Day Massacre, where Thompsons and Shot Guns were used, started the push to remove automatic weapons from private hands to help make us safer. The 1934 National Firearms Act was aimed at the weapons used by various gangs during the Prohibition Era. A little known fact is that it initially included pistols and revolvers.

Does anything in point # 2 above sound familiar?

Eighty years later liberals are still trying to take away everyone’s right to self defense to make it safer for society, particularly the children! All the while allowing various armed gangs to keep and use their weapons. Whom do they use these weapons against - with a few exceptions, most notably the 1997 Back of America Robbery, other gang members. My point being after 80 years of “gun control” the situations haven’t changed darn bit!

Amen, General! I'm a former combat arms soldier, who's ready, willing, able and equipped to use the 2nd Amendment to save my Republic. But I'd rather use the First first. Until we start using the tactics the Left has used effectively over the last five decades, we won't have done everything we can do. That means community organizing, running ourselves for office, grassroots fundraising, and grabbing the protest signs, lacing up the Reeboks and taking to the streets...like we did in 2009 and 2010.

For the life of me, I don't know why we stopped...and I don't want to hear the IRS 401c3 excuse, either. That's nothing but a way for lazy conservative to justify going back to their golf games and trips to Disney, instead of working to save our nation.

You said ‘We must take control of the terms of the debate. ‘ and I think you are right.

Let’s start by using meaningful terms instead of the terms invented by progressives to inflame fears.

For example; assault weapon is a meaningless term. We all hear it and assume it means some inherently evil tool used only by those intent on terrible slaughter. The rifle most often referred to with this term is properly called ‘a modern sporting rifle’. This is a semi-automatic rifle that can be configured in literally hundreds of ways to suit the purpose of the owner but still remains a machine that expends one projectile per trigger pull as long as it is loaded.

Let’s agree to stop using ‘assault weapon’ and start using ‘modern sporting rifle’.

Another example of the progressive scary language without meaning is ‘high-capacity’ usually referring to magazines.

This is a complete fabrication as the normal magazines delivered with most modern semi-auto pistols and rifles are more than 10 (or 7) rounds.

Therefore magazines holding 10 (or 7) rounds are limited capacity and all others are ‘normal capacity’. The entire concept of ‘high-capacity’ as it is used in the media is a complete lie.

Just a few of my pet peeves. When I use the terms as I have described them I usually get an appreciative look or a laugh. Sometimes I get a curious look because the person has no knowledge of what ‘semi-automatic’ means or what a normal capacity magazine is.

This is our fault for not speaking over these evil doing and ignorant progressive people who hate everything America is and stands for.

The reason we stopped was because we discovered that while ONE MILLION of us can gather at the Mall and sing “Amazing Grace” that we could be completely ignored by the Brown Shirt Media while they field armies to cover a black thug who discovered the “Knock Out Game” doesn’t work well with cops.

So don't sing "Amazing Grace". Sing something that's going to get their attention, not make them think we're a bunch of peaceful, docile sheep, out for a leisurely stroll on the Mall. Your enemy is always going to take advantage of your weaknesses...if there's some tactic you won't use, or somewhere you won't go, that's where he'll attack you from. For us, our weakness is we've never been willing to get mean and nasty, so our enemies have been mean and nasty to us. Well, it's time for that to change...long past, in fact. Just showing up isn't enough...we have to show up and confront our enemies.

While you're at it, picket outside your local congressman/senator's local offices. Get yourselves on the local 6:00 news, you and several dozen other PO'd citizens. Rally people to the cause. Force your congresscritter/senator to listen, or else.

Oh yeah, do the same for your city clowncil, county commission, local highway district, school district, and yeah, your local Tea Party. If they're ineffective, move in an take over, or start your own Tea Party group and siphon off their members.

There are all sorts of things we can do that we haven't been doing. Leftists are like ants...always scurrying around, working for their goal. We conservatives are lazy. We get mad once and a while, like in 1994 and 2010, and show what we can do when we unify behind a cause. Then, as soon as we win an overwhelming victory, we go back to our vacations, our golf games, and our stock portfolios. We squander our momentum, and soon find ourselves right back in the Leftist quagmire we were in before.

We've got to become ants, focused on the goal of winning our Republic back. When we do, we have to stay focused, because evil always creeps back in when our backs are turned. So have your rallies, but don't do it just once...do it over and over again until they do pay attention. Do it locally, at the state capital, and in DC. Badger conservative donors to contribute to the cause. Don't give up because you fail once...try, try again.

Or we can just keep yelling at O'Reilly, playing golf, and whining on FReep about how America's best days are over. My way might get us tear gassed and/or thrown in jail, but at least we'll be doing something. The status quo will cost us America.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
