Colorado Governor Says Voters Were 'Reckless' to Legalize Marijuana

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper says his state's voters were "reckless" for voting to become the first state to legalize marijuana for recreational use. The Democrat's statement came during a debate Monday with his Republican opponent, Bob Beauprez, just four weeks before voters head to the polls for the state's hotly contested gubernatorial election.

In 2012, more than 55 percent of voters in Colorado supported Amendment 64, which legalized marijuana for recreational use. The amendment aimed to regulate marijuana in roughly the same way alcohol is regulated.

Yep ... those are indeed impressive numbers.

Write down the "date" of the news story ... and check back with us in, say, seven years ...

Pot smoking "always" accomplishes the "mission"

Always.

A thousand will replace you so I doubt if they will miss you. The revenue they are making is astounding. There are plenty more states to visit to your liking.

Who is the government taxing?
Stoners.
People too stupid to handle reality.
Democrats.

Would you start toking if it becomes legal? Neither will I.

These are sub-human losers who will spend their spare time baked, rather than out protesting against guns, the Constitution, or whatever the cause Du Jour is.

Sorry, I'm not about to attempt to stop the Enemy when he is in the middle of a mistake.

Life is made up of choices. He chose poorly. For every group of moderate social drinkers, there will be one who cannot control his passions.

Yeah, no doubt.

This guy was such an alcoholic that if he did not have X amount of hard liquor per day, he would go into sever DT’s and other withdrawal side effects.

I have known two hardcore alcoholics in my life. My dad and my stepdad. Neither were like that, and they both drank a staggering amount each day for their entire lives it seemed.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Seems pretty plain to me what the answer is, and it has NOTHING to do with voting for whom or for what.

I lean libertarian but would never call myself one for various other reasons. My desire to end the prohibition is certainly not because I love drugs. I don’t do drugs. Never have. And I have no doubt many who pushed through the Colorado laws simply want to smoke pot. I just believe that trying to prohibit something self destructive (whether we are talking drugs, or even helmet laws) is misguided. Someone said we need the legislative to be limited in the aspects of life it has the control make laws about.

Saying pot is no worse than liquor is like saying herpes is no worse than VD.

More proof that hickenlooper is a jackboot and a complete moron. Those same “reckless” voters are going to toss his posterior out in about 4 weeks.

Legalizing marijuana was one of the few smart things to come out of CO in recent years, And the voters had to do it as the legislature was too cowardly to do so. Everything else coming out of CO has been more taxes and more control.
