The original towers took about five or six years to build, didn’t they?
If you look really, really close you can see there are cables hanging from it, so it is most likely a mast for a construction lift.
Seriously ..., they are cell phone transmitters/receivers ..NO ?

I assume its an antenna...and its shaped that way because...well...I guess the antenna works better with that shape...?
Or its just exactly what it looks like.

I work in the building industry...
It is very common for an architect to put something expensive in the plans, at the owner’s request....knowing full well it will be value engineered out later.
And the architect plans ahead for what the building will look like, when the element is deleted.
I don’t believe the final look was a pure accident.
Looks just like every other cell tower I’ve ever seen on the ground or atop a building....

Why Vanity Fair would move out of that building is beyond me, must have gotten a cheaper rent deal. Let me know who moves into the highest floors! Oy gevalt!
