Just to clarify, when ICR or other similar orgs use the phrase “secular scientists”,

they are referring to a scientist who is not employed by a creation science organization, or to someone who does not hold to a young earth viewpoint.

...There has been great confusion about this on FR in the recent past.

From the article:

“The resulting data showed a very recent, massive burst of human genetic diversification—mostly associated with genetic entropy. One author stated, “The maximum likelihood time for accelerated growth was 5,115 years ago.”5 This places the beginning of the period of genetic decline close to the Genesis Flood, when the earth began its repopulation through Noah’s family and humans rapidly diversified (Figure 1).8”

Image and caption from the article. My comment is below.

This lifespan data from the Bible begs MANY questions.

Genetic Entropy is based on the ideas of one scientists. The common sense explanation of why genetic entropy is wrong is detrimental mutations will not be transferred as they will not survive across multiple generations.

I read this a couple of weeks ago in ICR's "Acrs & Facts" publication, and was going to post it; but the ICR site didn't yet have it listed. I'm glad someone else is noting these good science-based answers to evolutionism theorists.

In another recent thread, an evolutionary contender insisted (wrongly) that my understanding of entropy was in error. This article speaks to the assumptions that commenter imposed on the physical chemistry and statistics of naturally occurring processes, and that's why I wanted to see this article brought up here on FR.

Thanks!

How did they establish that DNA is as old as Creation?

You creationists seem to be posting the same discredited arguments time and again. Why I'm Bored Of Talking To Creationists is an article in Science 2.0 that pretty well sums up the situation. No matter how many times you address a logical fallacy or misinterpretation of observations the just pop up again and again. John C. Stanford and his idea of genetic entropy has been repeatedly debunked.

One of the most important finds in recent years came from modeling the accumulation of mutations (genetic code errors) in the human genome over time using computer simulations. Researchers found that this buildup of mutations can only reach a certain level before the genome completely deteriorates and humans go extinct.

Mutations are continually being selected out of the human genome over time. If a mutation results in the mutated organism being disadvantaged over its non-mutated cousins, the organism is more likely to die, and take its mutation with it.
