Sen.-Elect Capito: Will Be 'Extremely Aggressive' in Trying to Rollback EPA Regulations [W.Va]

Sen.-elect Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) pledged on “Fox News Sunday” to be “extremely aggressive” in trying to rollback some regulations by the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Extremely aggressive,” she said when asked how aggressive she would be in the Senate in trying to rollback some of the EPA regulations. “That is my promise to West Virginia. We have lost over the last two years, 5,000 jobs. Those are just coal jobs.

“We had several thousand other miners who are what are called a warn notice, meaning they're potentially going to be losing their jobs. That doesn't even count the transportation job, the electricians, the tire distributors, all the other jobs that go with coal mining,” Capito said. “Coal is our base load fuel.”

It will be great to have intelligent, courageous women in the Senate. Most of the Republican men have been utter failures through decades of lousy service to their voters.

Let’s see if she’s still this passionate after Yertle sits her down and gives her a talking-to.

The first trim of EPA’s power is to define what is a “navigable” water way and what is a wetland. Rather than use loose and vague language, define it specific terms such as gallons per min flow rate or average annual depth/width etc.

Refuse to agree to sign on to any bill that includes ANY EPA funding. And build a caucus around it. Send Bhoner a message and follow through.

Once you have gotten a "warn notice" you have lost your job, nothing potential about it, it's the required 60 day notice.

My guess is that she sees Øbama for the weak person he is and will stand up for her constituents.

Capito also thinks there could be bipartisan compromise on tax reform and transportation.

Foolish woman.

I don't see how that will help her constituency so I doubt it's high on her list. She says "some regulations". I'd be interested in seeing her list.

The EPA was invented by envirowhackos to enact regulations that would never make it through Congress.

Let’s start by making sure ALL know the addresses, cars, license numbers, etc. of each and every EPA bottom-dwelling low achiever.

After all, that what libs do, and it’s time we return the favor.

And we’ll be sure to apply Holder-like “look the other way” justice to the union members who choose to visit those dwellings.

And - for once - I’m really on the side of the unions.

Go forth and cleans the earth of liberal vermin.

Good. And unlike her fellow West Virginia Senator Manchin, when she says this, it won’t just be all talk for the cameras.

we need to impose a requirement on the EPA to do a benefit/cost analysis on any new regulation along with the newer ones. Make sure they include the cost of global pollution created by off shoring manufacturing to countries with weaker environmental laws.

If projects are required to do environmental studies let’s impose similar requirements on the EPA.
