One for common sense, and a hat tip to Boehner. The latter is a rarity but I’d be happy to do it more often.

“Is this a wind-up for Net Neutrality?”
******************************************************************************************************
No, Boehner did a good thing in this case.

However, the nicely named but nonetheless evil Net Neutrality is a nasty thing which would give government bureaucrats & regulators control of the internet and, likely, what was on it.

All I know is that I buy tax free from Amazon. That is great because in Ohio we have a state sales tax and we also have a county sales tax in Cuyahoga County. They add up to 7.5% but everyone ‘rounds’ it up to 8%. So on a large purchase it is a substantial amount of money and comes into the consideration of where to buy a product.

Brick and mortar sales tax? What's that?

Pretty much. I can't speak for other states, but when California forced this on Amazon, Amazon decided to build distribution warehouses within the state. This would allow them to be able to offer same-day or one-day delivery options in the future. As it is, some items that used to take 2-3 days to get we will get the next day from Amazon.

While that works for Amazon because they are a large company, the smaller online businesses will choke on the increased paperwork.

It’s based on having Amazon warehouse operations in the state.
Does Ohio have any? If so your time will come. Too gravy for the politicians to pass up.

This actually raises an interesting question. What if states got rid of their sales taxes altogether, and found a different way to raise revenue?

The first big advantage would be a boom in brick and mortar small business in the state. They would have a level playing field with the Internet companies, and the advantage of location. This advantage is so great, they could use Internet retailers as wholesalers. Likewise they would be more competitive against franchises.

And because small business hires more people than any other kind of business, unemployment in the state would drop, saving the state money paid in benefits.

Small business also prefers locally produced supplies and commodities, so it would boost farming and other production in the state.

Do you really trust him if he’s re-elected as Speaker? There are certainly enough constitutional conservatives now to elect someone who will do everything to stop the invasion of the US.

Not to mention the accounting nightmare for part-time internet sellers.

Take Michigan for example when they went after the smokers who purchased their cigarettes out of state via the internet sales merchants.

The state treasury subpoened the sales records of these merchants, cataloged all the customers and their purchases who lived in Michigan then went after them for taxes.........

They could legally do the same thing with the major retailers such as L.L. Bean or Cabella's but it's not likely at this point.

They got away with it without public outcry because the smokers had successfully been targeted and demonized in the public opinion.

It wouldn't take long to fix that with software. I'll bet it's waiting.

I so do NOT trust him that I was nearly ready to pick up and move to his district, just so I could vote for the Democrat.

The last thing small e-businesses need is to be crushed under a mountain of red tape.

Software. It exists.

Heard on Limbaugh's show a bit ago, that Boehner wants to work with Reid to fully fund everything 0bama wants, through next September, by the end of this month.

He wants to do that, rather than just doing the usual Continuing Resolution (current one expiring in a month) to fund it until the next House and newly republican Senate can actually take over, design their own budget, and use 'the power of the purse' to fight 0bamunism.

Traitor Boehner wants to cripple the power of his own body to fight against the despotic fool who is destroying the nation. If the next Congress keeps this idiot as Speaker, we will all know that the GOP hates us peasants.

And of course that idiot McConnell has already promised that there will never be a defunding of 0bama's agenda, so we already knew that we are screwed as long as he is GOP's Senate 'leader'.
