Under the title of "General Implementation," Article 5 of the ATT requires that all states participating in the treaty "shall establish and maintain a national control system, including a national control list." Article 12 mandates that the list include the "quantity, value, model/type" as well as the identity of the "end users" of each weapon covered under the ATT.
As the Heritage Foundation notes, imported firearms, considered part of the "arms trade" to be regulated, constitute about 35% of the new firearms market in the U.S. This would subject private American gun owners to the provisions of the treaty, ratified or not.

The law enforcement here said that wasn’t going to happen - or basically - anyone trying to order their department to seize weapons is unlawful...there’s no way they are going against a population that out numbers them in people & arms! Plus, it’s a 2nd Amendment right that will not be infringed upon...the UN can go pound sand up their arse!!!

The UN passes all sorts of crap that is an “dead letter” in the U.S.
Unless the U.S. Senate with the consent of the American People secedes control of our government, the UN is a toothless tiger.
I'll start to worry IF the UN gets a true army of “Blue Helmets”
Even then, it's “from my cold dead hands”

All treaties must be ratified by two-thirds of the Senate, and that's not about to happen in the case of the unratified Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), particularly after the 2014 election that gave the GOP Senate control. The new senate needs to pull out the pile of unratified treaties and vote them down. There is a limbo for signed but unratified treaties which some international agreements assert should be treated as in effect. Time to kick these bad treaties out of limbo and directly into hell.

The problem is, that there are many in the electorate who love what he/they are doing.
Amazing.

All of these climate and arms treaties are meant to effect one country, is the US. Only the US is stupid enough to think they mean something.
