In Case You Were Wondering What Companies Are Helping To Fund Al Sharpton's Race War...
Chicks On The Right ^ | Miss Daisy

I'm not one for boycotts, but I am one for data. And I like this kind of data. It's just good to have data when spending money. That's all.

I mean, if I have no choice in keeping a SIGNIFICANTLY large portion of my money from being squandered by the folks that I've freaking employed up on the Hill (like drunk girls on Spring break with their Daddy's credit cards), I'm going to be as informed as possible with what's left of said money.

Thus, the data thing. You know.

According to the source article above and the New York Post, "Rev. Sharpton reps more sponsors than your average stock car driver."

Here is a list of companies that "donate" to the "Reverend's" National Action Network (which happens to be millions in debt, but I guess that's neither here nor there). These are the same companies that he demonizes on a regular basis, because, you know, one percenters and companies are EEEEEVIL and whatnot.

I guess these companies are either a.) stupid, or b.) gluttons for punishment. Or both.

•Colgate-Palmolive

•Anheuser-Busch

•Macy’s

•Pfizer

•PepsiCo

•General Motors

•Daimler Chrysler

•Wal-Mart

•FedEx

•Johnson & Johnson

•American Honda

•Chase

•Hawkins Food Group

•MGM

Either way, I'm just putting the data out there. Like I said, I'm not the boycott type, but all these companies can suck it.

And so can anyone who uses race-baiting as their means of income. A hearty one, at that.

Interesting that Anheuser-Busch is on the list. This is one beer I detest. I drink Fat Tire and Guinness.

THE BIGGEST HYPROCRITE OF ALL--after Sharpton's NAN network organized numerous cop-hating rallies, inciting thugs to kill cops, Sharpton went on MSNBC-TV, unblinkingly decrying the Ramos/Liu killings....... as if he opposed them.

REALITY CHECK Obama and DeBlobbio's BFF----MSNBC commentator and notorious race-baiter---Al Sharpton----can always be found stoking the fires of cop hatred.

The opportunistic turd's got a lot at stake: WH invites---his lucrative MSBNC gig---selling his NAN network to suckers like Bill Gates and Comcast who are negotiating to buy it.

Fox's Melissa Frances reported on The Kelly File that Al Sharpton not only hosts an MSNBC show, but that:

<><> MSNBC Corporate finances Sharpton's Ntl Action Network (NAN);

<><>Comcast is also one of Sharpton's financial backers

<><> MSNBC AND COMCAST are reportedly negotiating to buy Sharpton's NAN network.

How Al Sharpton (an Ebonics-talkin' race hustler) Got His MSNBC Gig
Western Journalism ^ | DECEMBER 23, 2014 | NORVELL ROSE / FR Posted by MeshugeMikey

EXCERPT ..... in 2009, NBC was part of the General Electric family of companies. GE decided to sell a controlling stake in NBC Universal to cable giant Comcast.

What stood in the way of that goal, according to the article in Washingtonian, was Washington itself — regulators and lawmakers who would have to be convinced that this move would not stifle competition.

(Money exchanged hands among pols, w/ Sharpton greasing the way.) In January, 2011, Washington approved the deal.

And lo and behold, Al Sharpton — who had virtually no professional broadcast experience but did have a long history of legal entanglements and ethical quandaries — landed a prime-time show on MSNBC. (Excerpt) Read more at westernjournalism.com ...

It is extortion. They are making conscious business decisions that it is cheaper to pay (and take the charity tax deduction)then to face a black boycott and charges of racism.

Government Motors, MGM, Chase, Walmart; these are all known left wing corporations. Walmart went left a long time ago in the hope of protecting itself from Dems imposing unions on the corporation, via race baiting.

Toyota is surely paying for race protection because an executive said something unflattering about American Blacks that made headlines a few years back.

EXCERPT

Terrified of negative publicity, fearful of a consumer boycott or eager to make nice with the civil-rights activist, CEOs write checks, critics say, to NAN and Sharpton – who brandishes the buying power of African-American consumers. In some cases, they hire him as a consultant.

(snip)

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/19/nyregion/questions-about-al-sharptons-finances-accompany-his-rise-in-influence.html

National Action Network’s revenue has increased sharply, to more than $4 million in both 2011 and 2012, the year of the group’s most recent tax filing.

Much of that revenue appears to be from large corporate sponsors. A person who handled solicitations at a company that has supported the group said National Action Network often requested $50,000 or $100,000 to sponsor events.

Mr. Sharpton said his birthday party grossed about $1 million, enough to clear up the organization’s tax debts, removing a cloud that has long hung over the group and himself.

Rev. Al Sharpton gets $1M in birthday gifts to help bail out his nonprofit

The Rev. Al Sharpton received a big present for his 60th birthday bash — $1 million in contributions to help bail out his nonprofit National Action Network.

A thick, glossy program distributed to guests who attended the lavish Four Seasons party Wednesday night lays out the companies that ponied up. ATT and the developer Forest City Ratner paid for full page ads at what was called the “Activist Level.”

GE Asset Management and Walmart saluted NAN with half-page ads at the “Preacher Level.”

The Humane Society, billionaire Ron Perelman’s holding company MacAndrews & Forbes, McDonald’s, DC37, Verizon and the Partnership for New York City got in at the lower “Track Suit Level” at the back of the book.

In an interview, Sharpton said he didn’t know what the different donor levels gave because fund-raising was outsourced to an event planner. He said “corporate checks take 90 days” to cash, so it was too early to say exactly who paid what, but he said the party brought in a projected $1 million.

(snip)

Three-term former Mayor Michael Bloomberg wrote: “You’re truly a unique American voice. A voice that has matured a great deal without mellowing one bit. And your best days are still ahead.”

Sharpton stayed quiet about Bloomberg’s decision to overturn term limits after he received a $110,000 grant from the mayor’s nonprofit, the Daily News reported at the time.

You’re correct. I think there’s a misconception because Microsoft allowed NBC to continue to use “MS” that Microsoft still owns part of it. When I looked at the Corp Headquarters address, it didn’t seem right to me. I went to MSNBC.com and they don’t have a “contact us” or Corp Headquarters like most websites do. But it does say (C) 2014 NBC Universal at the bottom of the page, and, in looking at the Terms of Service, here’s the contact info they use:
Gillian M. Lusins
NBC Universal Law Department
30 Rockefeller Plaza, Rm. 1087E
New York, New York 10112

30 Roc Plaza is what Wikipedia also has for their corp address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSNBC
+++++
Here’s what I included on another post:
NBC bought 32% of Microsoft’s original 50% ownership of MSNBC in 2005 and the remaining 18% from MS 2 years later. So, Microsoft hasn’t had any ownership in MSNBC since about 2007.

“On December 23, 2005, it was announced that NBC Universal would acquire an additional 32% share of the television channel from Microsoft, solidifying its control over television operations and allowing NBC to further consolidate MSNBC’s backroom operations with NBC News and its other cable properties. msnbc.com (the website was a separate corporate entity from the television channel) would continue to be 50% owned by both NBC and Microsoft, and its operations would be largely unaffected. NBC would have the option, which it exercised, to buy the remaining 18% share of the television from Microsoft after two years.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSNBC

Microsoft sold its 50% ownership in MSNBC.com in 2012.

Knowing that gives me hope, maybe I can sell my half interest in a steaming pile of male bovine feces. Obviously some people will buy anything.

Actually it is probably much simpler than that. I think they prefer bribery to bad PR. It's less expensive.

A bit of both, I suppose; most importantly, blacks are a key consumer group. Some will literally kill for certain jackets and sneakers, and if they want your product badly enough they will do anything to get it. Very motivated...

Both

Al was legendary in the 80s for shaking down companies (especially entertainment industry) by threatening protests. Give him a check and he goes away without taking further action.
