Yep, and for two to three days, the media kept running continuous video loops comprised of footage/imagery of Giffords, along with blood on the pavement, the photo of the little girl who was shot and killed, and Sarah Palin walking up to a podium at a tea-party event. The media dumped the bloody bodies right on Palin’s doorstep. An incendiary juxtaposition of imagery worthy of Eisenstein and Soviet-era propaganda films. Over a hundred-thousand death threats made to Palin and her family as a result.
Even more galling, virtually no GOP leaders spoke up and came to Palin’s defense. The silence was deafening. And sickening. Just about all respect I ever once had for the Republican Party died that week, witnessing their cowardice and dishonor.
I think a similar scene was played out across the nation during the 1012 presidential debate when Candy Crowley and Barack Obama set up Mitt Romney for an orchestrated take down. I was stunned when I watched it live and I could almost hear the collective cheers reverberating in newsrooms and studios across the liberal mediascape.
In this instance it is clearly "the enemy of my enemy (Palin) is my friend." The GOPe was so scared of her, maybe even more than the Left, they welcomed any derogatory events that would hurt her.
