Word is now circulating around the Catholic world that conservative hero Gary Sinise, along with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, both publicly professed faithful Catholics, cancelled their appearances at a Legatus Summit at the last minute under pressure from the LGBT crowd.
Legatus is the organization of Catholic CEOs founded by pizza billionaire Tom Monaghan to advance the spirituality of Catholic men and women in the higher echelons of American business. The primary work of Legatus and its members is the increased holiness of the members and spreading the gospel within corporate America.
Certainly there is a conservative tinge to the members of Legatus. It is almost inevitable that the CEOs of small and medium sized businesses who are also serious about their faith will tend toward the right politically and also toward tradition in the practice of their faith.
But, there is nothing liberal or conservative about the faith. There is only the faith. The whole of it, even and especially aspects of the faith the outside world finds offensive. Sometimes, with ever-greater frequency, the seamier aspects of outside politics will intrude upon the faith and upon the faithful.
There exists a highly organized cadre of LGBT activists whose job it is to monitor the American people for any deviance from what is approved thought and speech. But more than monitor, their job is rather like advanced scouts so that other LGBTs may then move in to target and punish. Their influence is pernicious, wicked and frankly un-American.
The body count continues to rise.

Too bad. Although before we judge Sinese too harshly, remember that it’s almost impossible to get work in Hollywood if you’re perceived as against homosexuals. It’s easy to say “he should make a stand”, but how many of us keep our mouths shut or water down our words to keep our jobs? I’m not saying we should laud Sinese, but maybe temper our criticism somewhat.
He will always be Lieutenant Dan to me. :)
Someone explain to me again how such a SMALL percentage of freaks in our population wield this much power? It’s insanity!
Eventually, it will be a hate crime to be a member of Legatus, or to go to a Legatus meeting.
yea...but occasionally you have to lose a battle to fight another day. Both these guys are good Catholics and we all benefit from their conservative politics and Christian moral lives.
What has he done in hollywood lately that he’s worried about losing work? You actually have to have work there to worry about “losing” work.
Nearly all of the major players in Hollywood are militantly gay-friendly. Many of them are gay themselves.
Their money gives them a disproportionate amount of influence.
You've got a point there. And I will not criticize Sinese directly here, because I'm not in his shoes.
But you've got to draw the line somewhere. My mother once worked for a large US company. She refused to give to the United Way because she disliked many organizations the United Way funded.
The company target was 100% employee participation. Well, they only got 99% because my mother refused to contribute. So the president of the company called my mother in, and asked her to give $10. Furthermore, the president would give her that $10.
Still my mother refused. She didn't get fired. But she never got promoted either. She did the right thing.
I guess I’m just no longer surprised. Cowardice and grovelling appeasement seem to be the new cultural traits of modern American in 2015, whether to the muzzies or homo-fascists, or whomever.
Add today’s lovely story of John Kerry and James Taylor, and the pathetic display of America that presents. This just isn’t the same country anymore. America has become a country without a spine.
I really just want to throw up my hands, turn off every connection to the news and culture, and just sit back and watch some old-time westerns or war films or old-fashioned adventure fare. Something reflective of the mindset and worldview in which things like duty, strength and moral character used to be instilled in the American body. Before this country became such an embarrassing, faggoty farce.
Great story. Great mom.
I’ll let Sinese off the hook on this one precisely for the reasons you state...although it would have been wonderful if he had stood up to the fag mafia and simply defended himself under the banner of free speech.
Bret Baier however...he has no excuse. Whatever reason might he offer for being afraid to speak before a Catholic group?
I have always admired him his fairness, decency, his family life...no more. If you bend to this thuggishness you may as well be bending over all the way.
If only that were literally true.
Faith takes courage. The courage to stand up to attacks against the truth. Mr. Baird and Mr. Sinise have shown that they lack courage.
The Catholic Church holds that Homosexual activity is always sinful. It is highly disordered and is never OK. They also preach that homosexuals are to be treated with respect as fellow Children of God and should be helped into leading a chaste and holy life. They also hold all premarital sex as sinful.
We all could use a little more courage. Particularly against the evil of Big Gay!
Fear.
"A fearless man cannot be controlled."
And for me, those who knuckle under to such tactics are disgusting humps. Stand up and have the courage of your convictions.
Murdoch has apparently giving standing orders for Fox News NEVER to criticize the sodomite agenda. No reporter mentions it anymore. No one stands up for real marriage, no one says a word when some radical federal judge overrides the will of the people. A lot of times the crew on Fox News can not be distinguished from liberal democrats, especially on the sodomization of America. O’Reilly and Hannity both now say they take no stance on sodomite “marriage” because it will not affect their personal lives. The Five also basically take the same position. You couldn’t tell The Five from the liberal The View when Obama allowed women in direct combat roles. All thought it was great that women could die right along with men if that’s what they want to do.
Go beat up on the Pope.
Bloody, you are right. But hate to say it, NOBODY in this Country is standing up anymore. And I’m not talking about just standing up to the LGBT’s either.
I hear you. I'm watching less and less TV these days. For entertainment, I listen to old-time radio shows: Gunsmoke, Dragnet, Duffy's Tavern, Johnny Dollar, etc. By the way, Johnny Dollar (a detective show) is considered by many to be the finest of the genre. I agree.
