(CNSNews.com) -- Despite House Rules Chairman Pete Sessions' (R-Tex.) statement on Dec. 3 that he and Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) were working together to push a bill on immigration that would not remove any person that might be here unless they were dangerous to this country and committed a crime, Goodlatte would not confirm or deny such a proposal, or discuss the issue of immigration when questioned on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
CNSNews.com sent Goodlatte's office via email four question related to Sessions' assertion. On Feb. 5, a spokesperson for Goodlattes office told CNSNews.com said Goodlatte has consistently stated the House will take a step-by-step approach to immigration reform, starting with enforcement first. The spokesperson did not answer the specific questions.
Goodlatte had also refused to answer any questions pertaining to immigration following a Feb. 4 press conference. Instead, he told a CNSNews.com reporter, I dont do impromptu interviews and to contact his press staff.
CNSNews.com attempted to ask Goodlatte to confirm or deny Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) claims from the Dec. 3 hearing.
In that hearing, Sessions said: I, as well as at least one other responsible member--and its Mr. [pause], the chairman of the Committee on Judiciary, and he may or may not choose to participate, perhaps Ive gone too far.
We intend to push a bill that would operate under the activity of trying to do under rule of law--what we would do in the House, move to the Senate, move to the President--and Mr. Goodlatte is committed in his job to do the right thing and to work with the Administration, said Sessions.
But that, even in our wildest dreams, he continued, would not be to remove any person that might be here unless they were dangerous to this country and committed a crime; and we would not even--that was never even in a plan that I thought about.
Sessions also said he personally would use all his assets and resources in 2015 to work out a deal whereby illegal immigrants can be in this country and work, and where not one person is quote thrown out or deported.
CNSNews.com sent the following four questions by e-mail to Chairman Goodlattes office. They were not answered before this story was posted.
1. House Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions said at a Dec. 3 hearing that he is working with you to push a bill on immigration that would seek to ensure that not one illegal immigrant is removed or deported unless they were dangerous to this country and committed a crime. Are you working with Rep. Sessions on such a bill?
2. Are you, like Chairman Sessions, going to use all your assets and resources in 2015 to push legislation to ensure that not one person is quote thrown out or deported?
3. Should illegal immigrants be deported regardless of whether they are dangerous to the country or have committed a crime beyond illegal entry into the USA?
4. Should illegal immigrants to the USA be deported because they entered the country illegally?
Goodlatte is a coward as well as he and Pete Sessions being RINOs.
I read somewhere Goodlatte, said they would go back into the shadows and to their previous 100% illegal status.
Mark Levin made a good point. Why isn’t Walker or anyone advocating these temporary visa holders who signed a legal document get deported when their visa runs out?
“They should not be under a process created that the president doesn’t have the authority to do, and they would be in the status that they were in prior to this program being established,” he said at the event.

They all committed a crime by being here
Yep, that was last June and this is February and Goodlatte will now not confirm or deny Pete Session’s statement about working on a bill that won’t deport any illegal unless they are a danger or a criminal.
I agree but it seems the RINOs don’t.
The Uniparty sucks.
Knock it off! Do your job and deport these freeloading, illegal alien invaders! If you don’t want to do that, go find another job!
Liar, traitors, gutless filth. Everyone of them needs to shut their yaps complaining about Evil Obama. OUR “side” is taking this country to hell.
That needed to be said again.
IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE THERE IS ONLY GOVERNMENT.

So very much agreed.
I saw that the Republican party would take a win in 2014 to mean that they didn't need to do anything conservative
to win only jump up and down yelling I'm not Democrat
— it is probably the worst outcome that could have happened, as it validates their actions and inactions over the past decade.
That's a damn lie. They are not RINO's.
They are the mainstream Republican politicians.
And mainstream GOP politicians, in order to preserve the rule of law, will pass a bill legalizing Obama's traitorous acts.
To insure that they WOULDN’T be deported? Did I read that right?
We need a bill to make sure they WILL be deported.
Yep, they’re doing their best.
That’s the very thing that lit my fire, too.
