Even though my #1 choice is ALLEN WEST, I think Cruz will make a good POTUS.

However, I do question whether or not he is a Natural Born Citizen. Yes, I understand that his mother is a US citizen, but his father isn't. Didn't the Founders intend for BOTH parents to be US citizens in their definition of Natural Born Citizen at the time the candidate was born rather than just one? What is the TRUTH here...can anyone provide me a link?

I know that Cruz was born in Canada, but I don't believe that the place of a person's birth had anything to do w/ whether they were a Natural Born Citizen or not, it was the citizenship if their parents instead. I thought that the Founders wanted to make sure that anyone who became POTUS was raised in a family whose hearts beat for America rather than another country.

I don’t know. The Presidency has a tendency to either elevate or shrink a person in historic proportions.

He has a good foundation.

Hell, Odumbo is not natural born, and HE wasn’t a problem for anyone on the left. That being the case, I honestly don’t think we need to look too hard at Cruz, given that the precedent has been set by Bammy.

Wouldn’t it be cool to have a Constitutional POTUS that would make fun of Obama every chance he got?

Let’s say a POTUS Cruz took Obama’s well-known phrases & used them against him. Notice that, just like Obama, Cruz has 2 daughters. If there was an a WH event honoring the Boy Scouts (or some other group that irritated the Progressives something fierce!) & one of the Boy Scouts received an award for bravery (or whatever), Cruz would say. “If I had a son...”. Use the phrase for something PATRIOTIC rather than praising a dead thug as Obama did, LOL.

Maybe during his Inauguration speech Cruz could trash Obama for his treasonous actions, his doubling the debt, his kissing the arse of our enemies, etc., etc. & point his finger at Obama while he was sitting there & say “THAT MAN is the reason why you can’t have good things...”.

He would make a GREAT president. It’s really simple: He’s off the charts brilliant, fully understands the Constitutional system as it was intended and fully committed to restoring it to full vigor. After that, all he needs to do is to appoint good, well qualified people to fill key jobs, throw out all the careerist bureaucrats at every level and make all decisions going forward guided by the Constitution and the concept of liberty as expressed in the Declaration.

This is true of how Reagan governed. He didn’t come to the job of governor as an experienced executive but was guided by principles, character and a good mind. Cruz, IMHO, equally principled and probably a far greater mind than Reagan, so he can more than make up for any intangibles that Reagan had.

You could expect an Impeachment if he sneezed in the wrong direction.

Question is, if he doesn’t win POTUS, could he win his Senate seat again come 2018???

‘Cruz’s Cuban ancestry probably contributed to his capture of 40 percent of the Hispanic vote in the 2012 Texas senate contest.”

Does anyone know if they Hispanics voted against the dem Lt. Gov. and for Cruz, simply because he sounded like he was Mexican?

I sure hope not and they voted because they were impressed with his record and saw that he had the values they admired.

Besides your question, do you know what you’d call a Republican nominee who got 40% in a national election?

Will Ted Cruz Make A Good President?

Certainly better than what we have now. Hell, a dead skunk in the middle of the road would be better than we have now.

Cruz is an evangelical Christian, which I’m very afraid makes him unelectable in in today’s post-Christian America. The very last thing that America’s apostate protestant denominations and our sex-crazed general public want is an evangelical born again Christian president.

Cruz’s Cuban ancestry probably contributed to his capture of 40 percent of the Hispanic vote in the 2012 Texas senate contest.

In the last few national elections Hispanics voted 70% democrat plus or minus a few % points.
