OCALA --

Marion County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to once again fly the Confederate flag at the county's government complex.

The flag was taken down last week and temporarily replaced with a flag with the seal of Marion County.

PREVIOUS STORY: Marion County takes down Confederate flag

Commissioners on Tuesday said they planned to meet with the county's historic commission to discuss placing markers near the flag to explain its historic significance.

The Civil War-era flag has been under attack since nine black men and women were gunned down at a historic church in Charleston, South Carolina on June 17. The suspect, 21-year-old Dylann Roof, had posed with a Confederate flag in photos posted on a website that displayed a racist manifesto attributed to him.

Good! Now let’s have an end to this flag nonsense and get after the real problems in 0bamaland. He’s certainly created enough of them.

YES!

This is back-blasting in the Leftists’ faces - the Stars and Bars has now turned into a symbol of defiance.

The Mockingjay couldn’t do better.

No matter to Farrakkan (sp). He says the American Flag is the real problem.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Ocala is located on an old Indian tribal site. Shouldn’t the whole city be bulldozed over and given back to the Indians? Anything else would be racist.

The Mockingjay couldn’t do better.

Great analogy, the Mockingjay. A symbol of renewed passion and defiance against great odds.

If only Dylan had been holding a Mexican Flag.

Boy that would have been toying with Obama's itsy bitsy brain.

Heh. I was wearing the Mockingjay on the 4th. I’d go with V but progressives have commandeered that one.

I live in Ocala, a land of horses and golf courses. Considering the preponderance of retired Yankees here, I’m sort of surprised at the news.

I’m so tickled that they came to their senses about this. I’m very pleased this happened in my adopted Florida county.

After a while, things will cool down and the issue will be forgotten, as the Libs move onto bigger issues — such as football season about to start and they still have not renamed those evil Washington Redskins.

The Stars and Bars will slowly return — until the next time a skinhead or bonehead goes off and kills some people.

The media and the Left need issues, but their attention span is relatively short.

First of all, it’s not the Confederate flag.

It is a battle flag that was used by a few regiments.

The whole thing is a lie from the beginning to the end.

Special interest Leftist groups have gamed this stupid issue until they are getting backlash for it. And well they should get backlash for it.

Erasing our history is no way to prevent reliving it.

The flag is a straw man, the race hustlers are going to have as many hay days as they can before the Racist in Chief is gone.
They would like him to stay if they could just pull it off with the help of Whitey McLiberal.

Whitey McLiberal is mighty guilty and willing to make amends.

I have relatives who fought on both sides in the war, therefore I feel justified in flying Old Glory, and the Tennessee battle flag on my ranch, in their honor.
Some of us yanks are proud of Southern heritage, as well.

The flag is part of an historical display showing the flags that flew over that part of Florida since the 16th century. It includes the Spanish, British, French and American flags. Every flag has skeletons in its closet when you look back into Florida history.

It’s the Battle Flag, NOT the Stars and Bars. May it always fly as a flag of rebellion.

Every one of the 50 states should take advantage of the current times to honor that flag if for no other reason that it be a reminder we are a nation forged of a union of sovereign states and not just a collection of territories subservient to a central despotic regent. It should be just as much a matter of pride and honor for a citizen to be Virginia, Texas, or Ohio American as to be any other kind of hyphenated American.
