Donald Trump’s planned tour of the Laredo Sector of the Texas -Mexico border has been canceled by the national AFL-CIO-controlled union that represents U.S. Border Patrol agents, the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC).

This will only draw more attention to it. Good move either way. Probably, but he needs someone official to consult with so his observations and conclusions will have some official source to add credibiity.
I hope a big stink is made of this. Who was behind it? Many pols and candidates and news people have toured the border before and I never recall anything like this.

Of concern, Trump is going to the border without knowledgeable, armed Federal Agents with him. He should have top knotch personal security. And most border county sheriffs seem very concerned about the border and would probably help out.

Obama admin probably had something to do with this. Why would the union be opposed as illegal alien workers take jobs away from union shops and drive wages down. I'd bet on it. The local Border Patrol always seems eager to tell their story and voice their complaints at not being allowed to do their job. This probably came from DHS under Obama's orders.
I wonder what justification there could be. All sorts of people frequently tour the border and I've never heard the of the BP being ordered to not cooperate with a high profile figure before.
Hopefully some reporters will dig into this and see if there are any precedents or justifications other than politics.
