What does it look like today? Your pic was 7 years ago.

They never heard of the mini-ice age in the mid 1800’s or they conveniently forgot.

The Earth has been on a warming trend since the end of the last ice-age. Until the next ice-age, that will continue. One day, those 2-mile thick glaciers will again cover much of North America. We won’t be able to do anything about that either.

Melting glaciers creates MORE habitable land.. more fresh water..
I fail to see the downside.. but I liked the movie “Water World”.. even tho it was a fantasy..
beats the hell out of GROWING Glaciers.. and a new ice age looming..
unless “cold fusion” can be invented.. AH but thats a fantasy as well..
Thorium Reactors is a good idea.. but “primates” tend to want to become politicians..
Primates just cannot understand that concept.. pity..

Yikes! So if either of the polar ice caps melt we'll flip over. And Australia will be where North America is. And if it wasn't for Australia, Madagascar would be where Tunisia is.
(yes, it's humor for the too serious people here).

There actually are some glaciers that have been growing. There is a new glacier on Mount St. Helens. The largest glaciers in the lower 48 are found on Mount Rainier. They have been for the most part incredibly stable over the last 100 years. The Carbon glacier which is one of the largest was reportedly in a growing trend. We have had a warmer and dryer summer than normal so I would expect all of them to retreat a little this year but nothing too spectacular. It is an active volcano so I am relatively certain that there still will be some ice left when it blows again sometime in the next century or two.
