I get so tired of reading this stuff (I know, I could just stop). Trump was a conservative in 2000 when he wrote “The America We Deserve”

Ahh, yes, the book in which he called for Single Payer Canadian Style Universal healthcare. That's some real conservative stuff right there.

And during the debate, this is what he said:

"As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland. It could have worked in a different age, which is the age you're talking about, here."

No, it doesn't. It doesn't work well in Canada and it doesn't work well in Scotland - or anywhere else for that matter. Does it not bother you that you are supporting a candidate that actually believes single payer healthcare, a system that Bernie Sanders the socialist advocates, think is a pretty darn good system ANYWHERE?

Good grief, what is wrong with you Trumpsters? Are you that easily suckered into this cult of personality?

Unlike the posters on FR, the country is apparently not looking for ideological purity - Cruz can’t seem to hit 10% on most of the polls. They want someone who will get something done in favor of America, and who can explain clearly what they are doing, even if they aren’t in complete agreement.

I don’t doubt that Obamacare could be repealed under Trump, and he would go along with it, as long as the alternative is fiscally sound. He clearly is not ideologically bound to socialized medicine, nor any other socialist or conservative pet doctrine.

I suggested in another thread that our feckless congresspersons who have reneged on every promise they have made may be looking for a ballbuster like Trump to provide cover for them and take no guff from the opposition about the consequences.

I recorded the debate and haven’t watched yet. I did catch the post debate “analysis.” The concensus seemed to be Trump did himself in.. I was surprised to hear it reported that Trump did very well.

The battle to save the republic is now, there is no tomorrow. If Trump goes down, the republic is lost.

So once the left legalizes 60 million “new” Americans from the third world what kind of health care system will we have?

Nonsense. Trump is useful for bringing the illegal issue to the forefront. After that he is a crony capitalism with socialist tendencies who is in love with single payer healthcare. His recent “evolution” not withstanding. In a sane world he wouldn’t be allowed on the same stage as a man like Cruz.

Why not? Is Ted Cruz unassailable? If Ted can stand on a stage with anyone, is that not the test of leadership?

Because Trump is badly informed on most issues facing America and too arrogant to do his homework while Cruz can discuss any issue cogently and with specificity. Additionally Cruz does not support socialist healthcare schemes and Trump does. Trump sucked last night and I don’t much care if you support him or not. I am 64 years old and used to conservatives voting for socialists. Nothing surprises me any more.

You are right, about Cruz. Yet, Mr. Trump is breaking ice bergs of supposed isolated common opinion. Waking the dead, so to speak. So, you are “64 years old and used to conservatives voting for socialists.” You are an idiot. KMA.
