AUSTIN, Texas (August 5, 2015) — The federal government wants to see Lance Armstrong’s medical records from his treatments for cancer.

Court records show that government lawyers on July 30 subpoenaed the Indiana University School of Medicine to provide records of Armstrong’s treatments and donations he later made to the school.

The federal government has sued Armstrong to recover millions of dollars in sponsorship money the U.S. Postal Service paid to his teams. Penalties could approach $100 million.

Armstrong’s lawyers say the demand for medical records is an invasion of privacy and want a judge to block their release.

A couple of things jump out at me. Why can't Armstrong seal his medical records like politicians do?

And what the hell is the USPS that can't stay afloat on actual revenues doing spending $100MILLION sponsoring a sports franchise?

When somebody starts going after the Clintons, I’ll have a lot more sympathy for folks going after Armstrong.

I don’t like what he did, but some things are very difficult to reverse once done.

The funds given to philanthropic organizations is spent. Who knew that would happen? It’s gone you morons.

Armstrong deserves to be seen for what he is. He asked for it. He’s gotten it and will get it the rest of his life.

Did the Clintons do something wrong? Did they get outed for it? Will they pay the rest of their lives?

This selective amnesia regarding wrong-doing angers me.

The USPS got exactly what it paid for; publicity and advertising. They cannot claim they received no benefit.

Armstrong was never sanctioned for using drugs while he was a rider for the USPS team.

USPS may have a claim, but they there are no damages since they got exactly what they paid for.

If only . . .

the feds would find out what the side deals are in the Iran deal.

the feds could find Lois Lerners e-mails.

the feds worried about what happened at Bengahzi.

This is about as stupid a use of tax payers dollars as I can imagine. It is no mystery now, Lance used performance enhancing drugs. OK Move on.

This is hysterical. They’ve impounded his pound of flesh and now want to dissect the organs to sell just as PP has done for years. Pretty penny made on that sales negotiation. The DC Cabal are really cannibals as well as parasites. Lance, take down the criminals with you. Let them pump.

I recall reading of graffiti on the Alpe d'Huez one year when Lance was in the midst of his string of consecutive Tour victories:

"Go Lance, Rip their Ball Off."

"If only..."...the present administration had any love for our country.

I see the continued attacks on Lance as just an extension of the hate for the USA and any symbol of its greatness.

Why can't Armstrong seal his medical records like politicians do?

He shouldn't have to, the Feds protected them back in 1996 with HIPPA......But then, when have the Feds been known to follow the law?
