Air Travel: When Congress decided to let the federal government take over airport security in the wake of 9/11, critics said it would only make matters worse. Fourteen years later, it looks like the critics had it exactly right.

Were they made in China?
TSA ? Bush’s fault. Instead of securing the border after 9/11, he gave us this. Now his dopey brother wants his turn at the wheel.
The kind with common sense ... walking around and chewing gum at the same time sense
The kind of people that were envisioned to be part time politicians and the owner/operators of capitalistic businesses
Property owners and taxpayer ...
critics.
I hear that the TSA is getting rid of those scanners too.
Didn’t Tom Ridge own a stake in the naked scanner company? Follow the money here too. Who benefited from using these failing scanners?
The question: How much did said scanner company contribute to the Clinton Foundation?
Securing the border wouldn’t have mattered (although it’s a great idea - GO TRUMP!) ... because the people behind 911 (our enemies the muslim Saudis) had private jets and access to the skies even though we were told air traffic was on lockdown.
Eggg- zackly
Didn’t Chertoff (Bush’s homeland security) have a substantial interest in one of the companies selling those scanners?
Yeah, but they tried really hard, and their intentions were good. To a liberal, that's all that really matters. A liberal would buy more scanners from the same company in the hopes that they would get it right, and so they could feel good about themselves and their support of a struggling underdog.

Whether it is Ridge or not, some cronies pocketed some serious money.
Many are criminals in today’s Bizarro World. The “transformation” continues apace with many willingly nosing-up to the trough of public money. They sell their souls and their country for a few pennies. Shameless creeps.
Michael Chertoff, who followed Ridge as Homeland Security Secretary, had a big investment in those scanners.
Reserve your lamppost space now.
The TSA does not care about spending; they may buy but they don’t pay, the tax payer spends for everything and in this case all we get for the money is harassment.
I have been reading a lot of WW2 history lately. The DHS reminds me uncomfortably of the German RHSA. The whole thing should go away.
