NEW YORK (Reuters) - A day after one of his top aides was critically wounded by a stray bullet, Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday called for a national gun control policy, saying that New York's tough firearms laws are ineffective if they stand alone.
Police sought suspects in the shooting of Carey Gabay, 43, believed to be an unintended target who was struck in the head at an outdoor celebration on Monday before the West Indian Day parade in Brooklyn, a spokeswoman for the New York Police Department said. Gabay, the first deputy counsel at Empire State Development, the state's chief economic development agency, remains in critical condition at Kings County Hospital Center, said a Cuomo spokesman.

Andy Cuomo wants to confiscate guns from people in Colorado because his own state’s gun control laws are a failure.

Cuomo should be pulling off that ridiculous stunt on “Saturday Night Live.”

I looked up some homicide stats and found this. The mayor might simply suggest that black men stay home after five and don’t associate with people who are likely to kill them.
“Joseph L. Giacalone, a retired NYPD detective sergeant and adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, said some victims put themselves at risk. He calls their deaths “victim precipitated” killings.
“Sometimes they run in circles they shouldn’t be running in,” said Giacalone. “Most of our victims are into something.””

How about more residential mental institutions (insane asylums). I don’t know about these perps but most all of the other killers for the past ten years have been on prescribed psychiatric drugs - known as ticking time bombs, but allowed to roam the streets.
