“Well, the country from which the offender has legitimate diplomatic immunity must waive that immunity for prosecution here to proceed.”
Sure, but I’m not worried about prosecuting him for crimes committed while he had immunity. We should just unilaterally revoke his immunity, before he does something we really would like to prosecute him for.
that or a brick through the driver side window.
In 1997, Gueorgui Makharadze, formerly the second-highest-ranking diplomat at the Georgian Embassy in Washington, had his diplomatic immunity waived after he killed a Maryland teenager in a drunk driving accident.
It's the exception. Waiver of immunity that is.
I didn’t miss that. I’m wondering if someone with diplomatic immunity can be killed legally in defense while committing a crime. Any lawyers out there?
CCW holder in People’s Republic of California? Ha we wish.
They showed this last night on the local news..Beverly Hills Police can’t touch this Arab schmuck because he has “Diplomatic Immunity” they should investigate him to see if he has terrorist ties..Where the heck did he get all this money, to buy million dollar cars and that nice house of his(I know the area, you can’t get a house there unless you have 5+ million) and he has the nerve to say F America, GET THE F OUT IF YOU HATE AMERICA SO MUCH..he is going to kill someone doing those street races, and I bet he wouldn’t shed a tear
He's probably a Team 0bama adviser.
The police have zero tolerance the reporter says yet the 2 drivers are not in jails as you and I would be.
Had a former boss who worked for several years in Qatar. From what he tells me, this sound entirely plausible. The royal family in Qatar own everything. And I mean EVERYthing!
I found this on the comment board of NBC Southern California. I dont know if it is accurate, but quite interesting:
Those cars belong to Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad, a member of the Al Thani Royal Family. Kris Herzog here, My company The Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills works on that street in the 700 block of Walden and we have called 911 on them a few times. The subjects in that video from Qatar have off duty police officer bodyguards to pretty much let them get away with anything. NOTE:
Diplomatic immunity does not cover violent crimes so if they committed a violent crime like reckless driving causing serious bodily injury they can in fact be arrested and prosecuted.

Good chance it has an Optima yellow-top. Not really worth killing someone over.
For the most part, people with diplomatic immunity are unlikely to tear up the streets, or get in fights in bars They are generally mature and are concerned about their careers. I had diplomatic immunity for many years, including four years in Havana. I was making a right turn on red on my street. A cop whistled me down, so I explained to him in Spanish the meaning of that sign behind him. Once I was sneaking across 5th Ave. A cop pulled his motorcycle in front of my SUV with diplomatic plates, dismounted and approached me, waving his finger, telling me not to do that again, in no uncertain terms. Then he stepped into the road, held up his hand to stop traffic, then waved me on to 5th Ave. It all depends on attitude.
observe routes most often taken.
Place speed bumps on road, sufficient to tear the bottom out of the car.
Can anyone buy a set of spike strips?
Arjen Rudd: [holds up his wallet] Diplomatic immunity!
[Roger ... Roger Murtaugh: It's just been revoked!
That was my question. Slide it out in from of him from between parked cars and walk away.
