Please don’t insult snakes and lizards. They’re beneficial creatures that eat vermin; Obola and the things he’s bringing in are vermin.
Drug charges with federal minimum sentence standards is one of the most common tools used by prosecutors to quickly put bad guys behind bars. Is it a drug? Yes? Is it in his possession? Yes? We'll go with that, just wipe the victim's blood off the bag so we can do the drug test and put him away.
I've seen it used many times to put away killers for 15-20 years. Yep, he had just a couple grams of drugs on him, but it is a whole lot easier to prosecute that then to go into the whole attempted murder charge.

A key fact is missing.
96% of Federal inmates accept a plea deal.
In other words, about 96% of the people being released pleaded guilty because they feared they might be convicted on a more serious charge if they went to trial.
Many - perhaps most - of the “mandatory” sentences that are reported here were imposed AFTER the inmate violated the terms of his original plea deal in some way.
So much for the ‘no federal parole’ rule.
I don’t see how we can be the Land of the Free if we’re not locking up as many people as possible.
There was a story just this morning on yahoo about how many get “lost” on their way to halfway houses.
It’s all about timing. This gives them just enough time to commit a mass of crimes to add to reasons for hussein to cancel the election.
And it will no longer be confined to Black and Hispanic neighborhoods.
A new “Obamaville” has just opened two blocks south of my currently crime free Asian/white neighborhood near Seattle. 400 units of Section 8 housing are now completed, and a 275 bed homeless shelter will open in another month or two.
Last night, I noticed a large electrical utility box just 50 feet behind my building has been sprayed painted with gang graffiti.
And the GOP leadership just stands around watching this happen!

We have lots of people who have been sitting in prison for petty drug offenses done years ago, that today would barely get a slap on the wrist...
They should get a shot of getting and keeping their freedom...
Bottom line it’s cheaper to have these people on welfare, because their are no jobs, than the cost of imprisonment...
That is planned across the nation. They are moving that type of housing into middle class communities on purpose.
The GOP is a joke on us.
I used to laugh at Blacks for supporting the Democrats who did nothing for them.
Now I see us doing the same thing for the GOP that never does anything for us.

Another old-wives-tale promoted by the legalize-my-pot crowd. Repeat felons dealing in most cases, not just sit-at-home tokers who got caught.
We have an overly complex legal system wherein a criminal charged with a number of crimes can get a plea deal by pleading guilty to a relatively minor crime gets a judge to drop more serious crimes which would be more difficult and more expensive to prove. So isn’t it a bit of a grab bag criminals we are freeing?
I understand most of these people are in because they were repeat offenders...
I think spending 20 years in prison, they are now either reasonable reformed or now hard core criminals...
Even guys caught today low level dealing pot are basically getting a light sentence or several shots at reforming themselves...
Gov Jerry Brown is releasing 40,000 criminals. He calls them non violent criminals. They has rape, robbed and murdered a number of people since being let out. That does not include the illegals he refuses to deport or lock up in the first place.

It very much depends on how the screening for release is carried out. It is true that it is cheaper to pay for welfare than incarceration. On the other hand if they don’t go to their halfway houses or home detention, then they need to go back to prison. Then again, why is it that the US has the highest rate of incarcerated people of any first world country and most second world countries. The prison population has increased greatly since the for profit prisons were allowed on the scene. Got to keep those stockholders happy. It will be interesting to see in a few years what effect marijuana legalization in various states has on the crime statistics for those states.
