Been married to the same woman for 35 years. Wore a wedding band for perhaps 3 weeks. The shape changed drastically when I put my full force to a large ratchet trying to break a frozen nut. The ring went from round to round except for the back of the ring which I flattened. After lots of soap I was able to get it past the knuckle. Using a conical steel form I drifted the ring back to round. It went in a drawer then somehow wound up on the floor....of course my wife found it (I still hear about it) and it currently resides in my wife’s jewelry box.

I wear no jewelry and since cell phones.....not even a watch.

Why should that be a surprise?....he lived about 200 yards from Calypso Louie’s HQ in Hyde Park. I used to live in the ‘hood and it gave me the creeps walking by the place.

Same here. Been married for almost 30 years. I took my ring off while I was flying in the military, and wore it with my dog tags. I saw one guy lose a finger on the flight line after it got caught on his wedding ring. They were unable to successfully reattach due to the tissue and nerve damage.

I lost my original wedding ring years ago with my dog tags. I wore a replacement until I caught my replacement ring moving something down from the attic. Almost ripped my finger right off.

Now I just choose not wear one, and I don't wear a watch either.

Technically wearing of gold in Islam is haram, forbidden for men.

The second part of the shahada cannot be inscribed in the ring, again that is considered haram. Only the ring of the prophet has such an inscription.

Mohammed reportedly wore a signet ring, not a wedding band.

Muslims leaders are expected to wear the ‘Allah ring,’ especially during the course of their duties. Other muslim males can also wear the ring as long as it is not to show off.

Gold is only meant for females, but gold plated items and alloys can be permitted for men.

It must have been quite odd catching your replacement
ring moving something down from the attic! Strong ring!! -
Regarding watches - I cannot stand any sort of tight watch
band around my arm; so I only occasionally wear the ones
where the band is like a bracelet that just snaps on the
arm real easy. (One I’ve had for several years keeps good
time and was $14 at Penney’s; very comfortable.)
