Diet RC uses Splenda, too.

A couple of years ago, we bought a 24 pack of Dr. Pepper (not diet - can’t drink that stuff) and it was immediately apparent that they’d also changed.....finally threw the remaining 22 cans in the dumpster a few months ago.

Fiance and I are addicts, maybe 40 cans a week.

Do lab rats write you to ask if there are any side effects they might need to know about?

Just had one...tastes the same to me but I buy whatever diet (coke or pepsi) is on sale. All’s I can say about aspartame is that if it’s as bad as people make it out to be then everyone in the United States would be dead.

Funny now that you mentioned that I found 2 large empty Coke bottles from the 60’s. That is when Coke was really Coke. I decided to keep them for nostalgic reasons next to my Partridge Family metal lunch box. =)

The only carbonated soft drink I consume at any time is Vernor's Ginger Ale.

Yeah, it's that good.

Agreed.

Aspartame gives me nasty headaches.

I use stevia when I cook but for diet drinks I have to look for the splenda ones.

lol.

You laugh and make jokes at someone’s sick addiction?

What kind of HUMAN are you? Probably the healthy kind :)

lab rats laugh at us.

I am surrounded by four half finished cans of every variety you can think of.

I dont care about anything anymore except my next hit!!!

Is there anything addicting in these drinks? serious question :)

PS I think we have rats in the basement or something, but they pay rent and the other tenants didn’t speak english either.

Add me to the list of Splenda Diet Coke drinkers. I think it gets reasonably close to the taste of cane sugar powered regular coke.

I’ll try this Splenda Pepsi out of curiosity, even though I’m a Coke fan.

“The only carbonated soft drink I consume at any time is Vernor’s Ginger Ale.”

LOL, was just on a golf trip and a guy on the trip went to 3 stores looking for it for his mixer but could not find it...really adamant about the Vernor’s which I had to respect!

FDA officials describe aspartame as "one of the most thoroughly tested and studied food additives the agency has ever approved" and its safety as "clear cut"

If I was going to drink a diet drink, I’d rather have splenda than aspartame. Aspartame is known to cause brain lesions in animal testing. I’ve read anecdotal claims that splenda causes lethargy.

And it was false. And in the time it took you to post it you could have done all the research necessary to know that. Or you could have just thought it through. Really how expensive would it be to ship live pigs all the way to China just to chop them up and ship them back? So why would they do something like that? And again, they got bought 2 years ago but nobody bothered to notice until this silly rumor started making the rounds.

Back when soft drinks made a name for themselves....

http://southernmemoriesandupdates.com/stories/coca-cola-removes-cocaine-from-its-secret-formula/

Atlanta, Georgia: August 15, 1903: Coca-Cola is called Coca-Cola for a reason. For the past 18 years since it was created in 1885, this renowned soft drink has contained some 9 milligrams of cocaine per 7 ounce glass and has a fairly large dose of the caffeine rich kola bean in every one of those servings, too. Those ingredients provide a powerful “pick-me-up” for thirsty customers everywhere. Cocaine combined with caffeine laden kola beans! Hence, the name Coca-Cola.

"Diet Rite (also Splenda), didn't know about this, will have to track it down."

It's called Diet Rite "Pure Zero" and has a blue label. I like diet Pepsi, but I like Diet Rite "Pure Zero" better.
