How is this relevant to what is happening today? The Soviet Union is long gone. Now we have a situation wherein Putin is backing Assad and fighting ISIS. Our “ally”, the KSA, is backing ISIS. We’re either supplying ISIS, fighting it, or ignoring it, depending upon whose claims you believe.

Why stop now?
The Russians can’t keep fighter jets flying missions because of lack of parts and maintenance needed. Ships require the same or the turbine oil lubricating line gaskets blow. Just one example because I’m from a mechanical background, I imagine the electronic elements require maintenance as well. Just because it floats doesn’t mean it will be effective. In that case it becomes nothing more than a target. A weak one at that.
