LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) -
Two teenagers have been arrested in the brutal stabbing death of a 43-year-old Lee’s Summit woman.
This comes after police released surveillance video on Tuesday of the 13- and 14-year-old suspects. Formal charges are pending with Jackson County Family Court.
The victim has been identified as Tanya L. Chamberlain. Police said they are not releasing whether or how the suspects knew Chamberlain.
The discovery of her body came after Lee's Summit police attempted to stop a vehicle about 1:15 a.m. Sunday for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The driver of the vehicle pulled into a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 500 block of Southeast Second Street.
Two men then fled on foot from the vehicle. The officer engaged in a short foot pursuit before losing sight of both suspects.
As the officer returned to the suspect vehicle, he discovered Chamberlain's body in the passenger seat. After working the case overnight, investigators determined Chamberlain had been murdered.

I just interpreted the word “option” differently. Among the sentencing options, life without parole is the only moral choice. Among the sentencing options we should have, I agree completely with you.
We have become frozen and unable to respond to this while it is happening we need to reeducate out dumba## people who are still singing kume by ya and handing out flowers. Get a gun and protect your a##es

I suggest not.
What can be done with them?
What if they just keep going on and multiplying?
Can’t advise. I have seen this before up close and personal. It never has worked out well.
Their life style is not compatible with that of successful civil society. They don’t fit and probably can’t be corrected because they don’t think they are wrong. That and it is in their genes I’m afraid.
You can’t ruin your on life for someone who has already ruined theirs. You don’t owe that if you have tried to help. This is off the cuff but considered before and I’ve taken a lot of flak for it. I told one person with willful child that would never straighten up that I would take him to the desert with a canteen and a bit of food and tell him that I loved him and hoped he would make it out and make something of himself but to never come back to my door. Bye.
I would probably not let him die but I’d let him get mighty close to it. I would plan and provision that he should not. He would hate me but he might change. I would not let him ruin my life and more importantly the life of anyone in the family who is trying to do right.
Hard, very hard but who made the choice? Don’t there have to be consequences? Isn’t there a time when you have done all you can?

If they can be “tried as adults”, they can get life in prison.

The most shocking part is the goofy liberal that didn’t like them being called the “thugs” that they are.
See upstream for links where I was (in college) about 15 miles away from some similar thugs who kidnapped, raped and murdered an innocent girl about 25 years ago.
They finally were killed off, 1 last year and 1 this year. They picked some girl at random after stealing a car and then tortured her for two hours or so.
I hope they knew they were dying.
