Two years ago in VA Beach a police officer, who was the top revenue generator for the department because he was the top DUI writer, was arrested for DUI after leaving an ocean front bar and plowing his car into the rear end of the car in front of him and tried to leave the scene.

A 274-page report on the deputy's behavior indicates he and two other officers went to the hotel pool, where they drank alcohol instead of attending DUI training. Did it indicate that they were fired and/or prosecuted? Didn't think so.

The idea was for them to get drunk, then go out to the parking lot and drive their cruisers into light poles so they can "experience" a DUI experience from the driver's perspective.
