As the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was unfolding, a high-ranking Pentagon official urgently messaged Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top deputies to offer military help, according to an email obtained by Judicial Watch.

The revelation appears to contradict testimony Defense Secretary Leon Panetta gave lawmakers in 2013, when he said there was no time to get forces to the scene in Libya, where four Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.

“I just tried you on the phone but you were all in with S [apparent reference to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton],” reads the email, from Panetta’s chief of staff Jeremy Bash. “After consulting with General Dempsey, General Ham and the Joint Staff, we have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak.”

Obama had to issue cross border authority for any forces outside Libya to move in. That was not forthcoming. Either they were told to stand down or not allowed to proceed.

TO me, that fact speaks volumes. That guy did not give his position away to laser that mortar site for no reason. he didn't do it just to do it. He didn't think the laser would scare them or hurt them. He knew it would give his position away and could likely lead to his death.

Why would a trained, specialist soldier laser a target in that situation if he did not believe there was someone or something with ordinance in position to fire on that target?

I believe, at the very least, there was an armed drone in the area that could have launched ordinance on that target. That soldier put that laser on that site with the expectation it was going to get taken out, but someone was prevented from pulling the trigger.

That was my conclusion as well.

I can't imagine the frustration of having the target in sight and not being allowed to take it out.

Interesting UCMJ conundrum there...assuming the drone operator was military, if the operator “pulled the trigger” against what could be construed as an “illegal” order, I’m sure they would have been prosecuted or punished...but it would have helped to bring many of the conspirators’ actions to light through discovery.

The operator, if military is only subject to lawful orders given within their chain of command...this would exclude the DoS and place the blame right back into the WH.

But if I were in the operator’s position, watching 3 men fight for their lives against these scum, there’s no way I wouldn’t fire...consequences be damned. No matter the outcome, I would know I had done what I could to help them.

I’ve seen the idea kicked around that Obama intended for the Ambassador to be kidnapped so that Obama could exchange some high value GITMO prisoners for him. Ambassador Stevens wasn’t in on the plan but Hillary was.

What Obama wasn’t counting on was that some real Americans would rally to defend the compound. The kidnappers hadn’t expected any return fire and likely thought that they were being double crossed. Barky’s kidnap/hostage exchange scheme began unraveling right there and with his usual petulance he had no interest in saving any American lives when things stopped going his way.
