I think it was Andrea Tantaros who said that Trump is the heroin dealer & the media keeps buying. Harris Faulkner gave her a weird look, but the analogy is a good one. The media is majorly addicted ... they can’t get off Trump!

For sure, “shoe in” is a weird phrase.

OTOH “shoo-in” denotes someone who faces only nominal opposition.
