Trump is no Reagan. Reagan's growth from Democrat to Republican took place over an extended period of time. Reagan did an awful lot of work in the conservative movement before running for office. Before Reagan ran, there was a long and extensive record of public speeches revealing Reagan's political beliefs and a track record of his support for and efforts on behalf of solid conservative candidates. None of which can be said about Trump.

Of course I agree, that is why I’ve watched hours of Trump rallies, pressers, and media appearances. That is why I bought his books. I wanted to vet him. That is especially important because his poll numbers clearly indicate he will be the nominee. With the hundreds of hours of video out there do you really think Trump will not stand for what he says he stands for??

There isn’t another candidate in the race who rolls up to a rally in his own jet, funded with his own money, with a father of a son killed by in illegal immigrant on board. More than that Trump gives that man the stage, something he’s done many times before. I’d bet most on this thread didn’t see that so I will link a video at the correct time. The whole rally video is well worth watching - Sheriff Joe starts it out.

He has an extremely solid second amendment position, one that is second to none.

Ummm, just a few years ago, Trump was on the record in favor of an assault weapons ban and increasing the waiting period for all other guns. So his current 2A stance is relatively new to him, not a long-standing principled position...

Duncan Hunter was also a real pro at handling the media.

I remember 1 debate where they took questions from the audience and the media found a gay retired general to ask about gays in the military. Hunter told him that it was about unit cohesion and that having served honorably himself he (the gay ret) knows that. Being different is not what the military does. Serve or not but nobody gay or straight should be making an issue of their sexuality.

Truth is that once Cruz successfully pushed the TPA closure vote through the congress, TPA was a done deal. To come back and say he voted against TPA after that is just sleazy political BS.
