The Department of Energy recently turned over more than 1,200 pages of heavily redacted documents in response to a records request about a subsidized biofuels company from The Daily Caller News Foundation.
In October, TheDCNF filed a FOIA request with the Energy Department, asking for email records from government officials regarding federal loan guarantees given to Abengoa, a Spanish-based green energy company. The request came on the heels of reports Abengoa was running into big financial problems, despite being given generous taxpayer-backed loans.
The DOE gave TheDCNF the records it requested Dec. 18, and after spending time reviewing the documents, it’s apparent there’s a lot of information the department did not want the public to see. The DOE redacted virtually all information specific to Abengoa — in many cases whole pages were blacked out.
Reporters were mostly interested in Abengoa’s $400 million biofuels plant near Hugoton, Kansas. The company got a $132 million federal loan and a $97 million grant to build the plant, but after a year of operation the plant seemed to be having problems of its own. Despite the hype surrounding the plant, Abengoa has filed for bankruptcy and halted operations in Hugoton.

“redacted” = protecting fellow criminals.
It is amazing that redacted information is even allowed in a non national security case. It is a clear admission of illegal activity. Unless there are big criminal charges filed by the government in this case, the redaction is a clear admission that the government IS the criminal.
Public Audit... Two words that strike terror from one side of Washington DC to the other.
Why redact anything? Hillary says there was nothing classified in her emails.

The wide black marker seems to be the new weapon that the US has against its own laws. We need another Snowden.
At this point, I’m fairly certain that the USSR and China have more than enough secret goodies like what’s under those blacked out areas to bring down the US government from within if they thought that it would be in their best interest. That’s a more powerful weapon than any number of missiles.
Corruption, graft and money laundering is probably many times worse than what we suspect. Wholesale theft of the public Treasury is occuring on an immense scale with a plethoirca of loans, grants to phoney companies like this one and innumerable “non-profits”.
Would have never thought that America would be taken over by the criminal element but it has been.
Worse, there is no mechanism to effectively prosecute or prevent this sort of thing from happening again and again because judges and law “enforcement” are on the payroll of the money men too.
And, for what its worth, 2nd gen biofuels will never be economic. Just because it works in the lab does not mean it is economically feasible. Governments have pissed away tens of billions supporting ivory tower educated idiots chasing this Holy Grail. They all think their new "discoveries" are going to change the world, but seem to have no concept of the economics required to commercialize such technologies. The pursuit of 2nd gen started more than a century ago and no one has yet found a truly free market economic solution. Perhaps its time to move on to something else.

Fraud, waste, and abuse are alive and well.
As I see it, states must not allow their citizens to send money directly to Washington DC. States are also corrupt but being closer to the people there will be less likelihood of them getting away with the same corruption without an outcry of those getting stung.
What possible reason could there be for redacting these e-mails? National security? DOE falling on the 5th amendment sword?

A lot of this is just dollar destruction. The more dollars get pissed away the less its worth.incremental destruction of the country is what the chicago regime is all about.
Unfortunately our candidates are too dumb to talk about it in their campaigns.
Remember the regime is run by 17 lawyers.They know if they redact now by the time the get their favorite judge to force them to give up the rest of the info zero will be out of office.
