The US Government Has An Internet Killswitch — And It’s None Of Your Business
Mint Press News ^ | 14 JAN 2016 | Derrick Broze

The Supreme Court has refused to hear a petition concerning the Department of Homeland Security's secretive internet and cellphone killswitch program.

On Monday the Supreme Court declined to hear a petition from the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) that sought to force the Department of Homeland Security to release details of a secret 'killswitch' protocol to shut down cellphone and internet service during emergencies.

EPIC has been fighting since 2011 to release the details of the program, which is known as Standard Operating Procedure 303. EPIC writes:

"On March 9, 2006, the National Communications System ('NCS') approved SOP 303, however it was never released to the public. This secret document codifies a 'shutdown and restoration process for use by commercial and private wireless networks during national crisis.'"

EPIC continues, "In a 2006-2007 Report, the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee ('NSTAC') indicated that SOP 303 would be implemented under the coordination of the National Coordinating Center ('NCC') of the NSTAC, while the decision to shut down service would be made by state Homeland Security Advisors or individuals at DHS. The report indicates that NCC will determine if a shutdown is necessary based on a 'series of questions.'"

“People laugh but I still keep a couple of CB’s in my stash of “end of time’s stuff.”

Good idea but remember, when you use it be very careful.
They can use drones to zero in on your location. Make sure
to put your radio shack away from your prime location.
There is no Geneva Convention type treaty limiting what our
government can use against us. You can assume their full
arsenal is on the table and holes like the Obama will have
no problem using them.

“Did you really think the Supreme Court would take this up?”

Thomas would.

“codifies a shutdown and restoration process for use by commercial and private wireless networks during national crisis”

Now, I just have to wonder what that “national crisis” could possibly be and why would the entire communications link in our country be suspended? Could the “national crisis” be a tornado, dust storm, heavy rain in Chicago, a hurricane, or simply a stampede by queers to buy the last tubes of KY jelly?

No, for we all know what the “National Crisis” will be and I think if Trump is not elected we will find out very soon for our freedoms, liberties and all that over 200 years of history has supported in the way of our rights under the Constitution and Bill of Rights will simply vanish as the “switch” is thrown to extinguish communications among the people and patriots.

This is a very disturbing scenario indeed!

He’s one of the few sane SC justices left. Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t it take more than one justice to allow a case to be heard?

I keep a CB and several pairs of FRS radios in working order. Just in case.

What? You mean the government can turn off the internet? Who knew? ... PING!

You can find all the Windows Ping list threads with FR search: just search on keyword "windowspinglist".

Thanks to ShadowAce for the ping!

What was the “War on Terror” is now called “Countering Violent Extremism,” and includes such dangerous potential “violent extremists” as our own military personnel who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Jihadists or our own veterans, they’re all classified as “persons who have sworn an oath to ‘support and defend,’ with weapons if necessary, an ideology.” Of course in the case of our veterans, the “ideology” they swore to “support and defend” was our own Constitution, “from all enemies, foreign and domestic.” But to Barack Obama and his fellow travelers, the Constitution is “extreme,” and the willingness to take up arms to defend it makes one “violent.”

There are a number of examples of their current focus that have slipped out these past 7 years. DHS, FBI, NSA, even the CIA. This ‘homegrown’ violent extremist focus by them is real, and it is their PRIORITY over all else IMO.

People laugh but I still keep a couple of CB’s in my stash of “end of times” stuff.

I never found a handheld CB that could get outside of my neighborhood. The new GRMS radios seem to do really well. I have a collection of those.

Media shutdown will occur just after a declaration of martial law and just before swat team roundups of “undesirables”. Ask yourself why FEMA has miles of chain link fence stashed around the country along with ridiculous amounts of ammunition. This will be phase II of WWIII, most likely launched after a NATO provoked nuclear exchange. The globalist financial oligarchy is running out of time and they will nuke the planet to keep it safe for fascism rather than see their financial rat lines exposed and made public fodder.

Knives cut two ways

True, but who to cut? If you wait until they come for you, you'll most likely lose. The strategy must be to proactively seek out THOSE WHO GIVE THE ORDERS. Cut off the head and the snake will die.

1. Sounds like a plan to encourage fence sitters to acquire firearms. If you’ve been told all your life to call the police when you need help, and your then told you won’t be able to call for help, it might encourage you to get a gun.

2. Mixed feelings:

—My understanding is that sometimes explosives are set off remotely via cell phone. Shutting down service in a limited area might be useful in such a circumstance.

—Sometimes the rioters, demonstrators, troublemakers use cell phones for their communications. Shutting down the service in a limited area might be useful sometimes.

—Shutting down the internet and cell service will affect the “good guys” as well as the “bad guys”, no matter what your definition of either of those is. Government officials, whether acting as good guy or bad guy, will be affected too. They will lose functionality with a wide area long term shutdown.

3. SP303? Is that like Rule .303?

Trump will not kill anything.

Trump is a statist thug just like his pals the Clintons.

He admires “Dear Leader” in North Korea.

Stop dreaming!

Learn to send smoke signals.

That is about the only thing that will not be jammed.

Of course, you will likely get a ticket from the smoke police.

Back in the early ‘70s I had a regular evening conversation going with another operator in Peru, using my old 23 channel Cobra sidebander, for several months.

Keep a landline. Cell phones are easier to shut down (towers, jammers)
