Eric Ericson has been exposed this election cycle. The GOP is having a civil war, perhaps with more than two factions.

But he's not much of a writer, so I think his future has been badly diminished. It might be interesting to write a analysis of the Trump vs. Cruz split and what compelled Palin to side with one of the sides. This article reads like it was written by a 16 year old, though. Mostly invective.

There are many better blogs out there. RedState was sort of an aggregation blog, but now that it's weighed in so heavily on one side of the civil war it's lost the impartiality needed in that role. And, because it's so badly written, it's not really ever going to be "must read" material, like some of the higher quality authors out there (Victor Davis Hansen, Mark Steyn).

So, the Trump campaign has pretty much imploded RedState. I don't think we'll see Eric Ericson on This Week anymore. He has made it there a time or two, but his 15 minutes of fame are over.

And of course, he's been savagely lampooned by the Alt-right. And, he doesn't get it.

He really is a sort of sad figure in American politics at this point.

Excellent post.

Kind of sad to witness all the people going apoplectic on each other over this. It makes conservatives look like a bunch of poo-flinging toddlers, usually characteristics that are reserved for leftist “comedians”.

Personally, I’ve become convinced that if it were ever to make it to a higher court, Ted would fail to meet the criteria for NBC if the spirit of our laws were to be maintained. Also, just something about having a President born in another country rubs me the wrong way. I see the tired argument made time and time again that the Founders weren’t US citizens, but that ignores the fact that they were all born in territories that joined the US at its formation. (I’m ignoring Obama birtherism here, since the charge that he was born in Kenya has gone largely unproved, and I never voted for him anyway.)

I like Ted and I think he has a useful purpose to serve in government, and I’ll vote for him if he gets the nod. But I would hate for the nominee to make it all the way through the convention and then be disqualified, so my Florida primary ballot will go to Trump.

I was sort of shocked that Rush had him sub for him during Christmas break.
