Where's the on and off switch for political correctness? Who is allowed to use it? What must one say/do to enjoy the privilege to flip it on and off at will? Why are supporters of the candidate who refuses to be constricted by political correctness so happy to come down on speech
they have determine to be politically incorrect?

Speaking as just a humble FR poster, I think you're missing a key point, ru4. Free Republic is not your neighbor park, where anyone can (and should) be able climb up on a soapbox and say anything they want, PC or not. If someone wants to call Palin a drunk while up on that soapbox, I'll defend his right to do so.
But calling Palin a drunk on FR, nope, that's an entirely different matter. Not comparable at all. IMHO, of course.
