The key bit is where Cruz says of Trump, âlook, thereâs a difference. Heâs advocated allowing folks to come back in and become citizens. I oppose that.â Trump has indeed said heâd let the âgoodâ illegals come back in after theyâve been deported; lots of border hawks, me included, have flagged that as evidence that Trumpâs not as opposed to forms of amnesty as he seems. Until now, though, none of the other top-tier candidates have had the guts to make that point against him.
He can let Trumpâs shots at his faith go because he has loads more credibility as a religious man than Trump himself does. An attack on his border-hawk bona fides is different, especially for a frontrunner in Iowa whoâs touting an endorsement from Steve King.

Anyone who thinks Trump will ACTUALLY let em all back in, or even a large number back in is on crack.
Problem is, Cruz will only commit to removing the felon type illegals. The rest, he won’t commit to.
Trumpees still don’t believe it. They hear what they want. Oh wait - maybe his supposed policies don’t matter either?
Unlike Donald Trump, Ted Cruz doesn’t have a Clinton Library document dump hanging over his head.
Seems that when you buy politicians, you’re only renting their silence.
Then Touchback Trump must be on crack, because that’s what he says he plans to do.
Ted Cruz on Legalization of Illegals:
1) “And I’d like to make a final point to those advocacy groups that are very engaged in this issue and rightly concerned about addressing our immigration system, and in particular about addressing the situation for the 11 million who are currently in the shadows. If this amendment is adopted to the current bill the effect would be that those 11 million under this current bill would still be eligible for RPI status. [Registered Provisional Immigrant] They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed under the terms of the bill they would be eligible for LPR status as well [Lawful Permanent Resident], so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principle objective — to provide a legal status for those who are here illlegally to be out of the shadows. This amendment would allow that to happen.
And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment, and I think everyone here views it as quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment, in my view that decision will make it much, much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representantives. I donââ¬â¢t want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass, and so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together and this amendment —I believe if this amendment were to pass the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically, and so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment.”
2) “The American people are overwhelmingly unified that, number one, we need to secure the border,” he added. “And, number two, any bill that this body passes should have border security first and then legalization, not the other way around.”
“What Mr. Cruz has tried to articulate in both word and deed is a middle ground. It got no support from Democrats in Washington, but it goes further than many on the far right want to go by offering leniency to undocumented immigrants here already...
Asked about what to do with the people here illegally, however, he stressed that he had never tried to undo the goal of allowing them to stay.
“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,” he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.”
3) CHUCK TODD: You still didn’t say what you’d do with the 11 million.
TED CRUZ: Well, my view is first, we secure the borders and solve the problem of illegal immigration. And then I think we can have a conversation about what to do about the people who remain here. I donââ¬â¢t think the American people will accept any solution until we demonstrate step number one, we can secure the border.
CHUCK TODD: So anything’s on the table? Potentially deportation or not deportation, but anything’s on the table for the 11 million—
TED CRUZ: I think we should secure the border and then have a conversation at that point. Stop using the Washington approach of I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. The American people arenââ¬â¢t going for it.

Cruz says what he has always said: “Enforce the law.”
“I would get people out and then have an expedited way of getting them back into the country so they can be legalâ¦. A lot of these people are helping us ⦠and sometimes itâs jobs a citizen of the United States doesnât want to do. I want to move âem out, and weâre going to move âem back in and let them be legal.” - Trump
Strange to hear Cruz complain, when not too long ago he wanted to increase H1B visas five fold, instead of preaching US jobs for US citizens.
Did you see when he was asked what his definition of amnesty was and it took him over a minute to be forced into some type of answer? Very painful to watch.
Cruz let out one key word “legally”.
“Listen, politicians behave a certain way when they are panicking,” he told NBC in an exclusive interview aboard his campaign bus. “And they engage in attacks, they engage in personal attacks, that’s human nature. I understand that. I am not going to get drawn into that muck.”
Yeah right.
Anyone who thinks Trump will ACTUALLY let em all back in, or even a large number back in is on crack.

Yes, let’s not take TRUMP (GOD BLESS & KEEP HIM) at his word. He’s going to deport them and let the “good ones” back in. Who are the “good ones”? Probably all except for the “bad ones”. So if they aren’t felons (caught and convicted) they’ll be good to go. And TRUMP (BLESSED IS HIS NAME ABOVE ALL POLITICIANS) will even save the country money by working a deal with La Raza to have them work the gates FOR FREE handing out the green cards.

No he won’t
Problem is, Cruz will only commit to removing the felon type illegals. The rest, he won’t commit to.

He said he’ll ENFORCE THE LAW...and that means deport those here illegally.
Ted Cruz sponsored the amendment to make the bill LESS immigrant friendly, removing the one provision without which Chuck Schumer said there could be no “reform”. This is what’s called a “poison pill” — an amendment designed to kill the bill.
He fought all the attempts to legalize the illegals on teh floor of the Senate. He worked with Mike Lee and Jeff Sessions. Are they pro-amnesty? They say he wasn’t either.
Cruz has consistently opposed any effort to legalize illegals. Touchback Trump, OTOH, has supported amnesty. Indeed, “touchback” amnesty is the cornerstone of his immigration plan.
The “good ones” who are “let back in” can apply for citizenship all they want but will be DENIED. This is pretty desperate.
He says otherwise.
“Anyone who thinks Trump will ACTUALLY let em all back in, or even a large number back in is on crack.”
Then you do not believe what Trump said. He said he would have a fast way to let the “good” ones come back. That is touchback.
