we're underestimating the impact of Branstad and Palin this past week. . . .

True. Cruz's numbers could be even better now.

“Why? Earlier IA poll today showed Trump ahead by 1. Both are within MOE. That means in the last eight IA polls, Cruz is 2-7-1, and three of those are 1-2 points difference. I’d say old mo is with the Donald.”

Why? Cruz has taken so much “incoming” from Trump and the GOPe (redundant) the past week I find it encouraging he’s holding ground.

And evangelicals are the least polled and analyzed sector of the base, completely unpredictable, and they want Cruz.

And Cruz has failed to branch out and appeal to a larger segment of the population.

Last week Trump was up within the margin of error. So, yes I am very excited that the most recent poll has flipped so that Cruz is now up within the margin of error. Its not a huge movement but the trend from last week to this week has been in Cruz’s favor.

” Many Trump supporters were suggesting that Iowa was over with the Palin endorsement and that is definitely not the case since Cruz leads in the KBUR poll “

Based on a poll taken BEFORE the announcement?

For a nothing endorsement, you guys seem to need to trash Palin real hard and latch onto a poll that happened before it, in order to cover your rears.

As far as they are concerned, there is only one state and the general election will be won by people going to church because.....reasons.

Sarah Palin endorsed Trump on the 19th. So, this poll includes one evening of polling before the endorsement and one evening of polling after the endorsement.

DT has needlessly alienated tens of millions of Cruz fans. Who has the better strategy now?

Well yeah, it’s very close. I don’t think either one can claim to have Iowa in the bag.

“this poll includes one evening of polling before the endorsement and one evening of polling after the endorsement.”

Which again means what? That poll numbers change within 24 hours?

The Loras poll today has Trump up by 1 so it’s apparently too close to call at the moment. I suppose the Iowa Poll by Anne Selzer will be the poll to watch.

Well, he’s not holding ground. He has lost ground in every single one of the IA polls, down 5 in DMR, down 1-2 in the others.

It's a competition, not a pillow fight.

Poll was taken before Palin’s endorsement. I’m sure that polling is currently being done to measure what effect Palin’s endorsement has had on the race in Iowa.

Also, since Glenn Beck has claimed that the TEA Party is “racist,” Cruz should be asked whether he supports Beck’s assessment, since Beck has offered his endorsement of Cruz, and Cruz has accepted that endorsement. Cruz should also be asked whether or not he regrets being party to Beck’s welcome party thrown down at the border where they handed out soccer balls and teddy bears to invaders.

I’m just happy that this election we are the ones being asked to hold our nose and vote for the “viable” person. Instead the GOPe is being told to vote for someone they don’t like :-)
