The most recently taken poll in Iowa which was conducted Jan 18-19th with 687 likely caucus voters shows Cruz back on top by 2%. Cruz is supported by 27% while Trump is supported by 25%. I think this means that Iowa voters are looking past ethanol and have noticed Trumps pivot to the left. Cheer up fellow Cruz fans, I think Cruz is still going to win Iowa.

Why? Earlier IA poll today showed Trump ahead by 1. Both are within MOE. That means in the last eight IA polls, Cruz is 2-7-1, and three of those are 1-2 points difference. I’d say old mo is with the Donald.

Another poll out today has Trump up by one - too close to call and too soon to see the Palin effect if any.

By the way Trump, I never ever liked that show, watched it once that was more than enough. Only had one McDonald's burger in my life as well, for the same reasons, FAKE.

Iowa hinges on turnout and weather.

That means Cruz could be behind by 1.7 or ahead by 5.7.

With the margin of error at 3.7% it can also mean that Trump is ahead at 29% and Cruz down at 23%. Just the facts!

I think it’s nip and tuck and we’re underestimating the impact of Branstad and Palin this past week. This could not possibly been reflected in this poll.

So its essentially tied, which is what the other Iowa poll out today also shows.
No wonder the Cruz people are getting so desperate.

The other poll was the Loras poll which was taken the 13th through the 18th so I think the KBUR poll taken the 18th through the 19th is a better picture of where this fast moving race stands now.
However, you are definitely right that this race is incredibly close. Many Trump supporters were suggesting that Iowa was over with the Palin endorsement and that is definitely not the case since Cruz leads in the KBUR poll which was taken largely after her endorsement.
