this story is poorly told.

a plea to fellow FReepers and fellow Republicans.

Please stop using the term ‘land grab’,
when the Federal gov’t transfers
land from itself to itself,
such as from a national forest
to a national monument.

thanks.

There’s a big difference between national forests and national monuments.

I’m not expert but I know I can hunt, cut firewood and Christmas trees, run livestock and secure logging contracts on (some) national forests.

My understanding is that a national monument is more akin to a wilderness designation—in other words far more restrictive in what uses the land can be put to.

Am I wrong?

I didn’t know the Hammond’s ranch was FedMob land.
