Yeah, well “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” does sound good on paper.
But who gets to decide what one’s “ability” or “needs” are?

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he is and has always been fond of communist "ideas"I've always liked the idea of warp drive, di-lithium crystals that give us unlimited energy and replicators that give us everything we want.

Sure, oppression of governments and those in rule over man is the age-old and very sad history of man’s misery with few exceptions, America, especially in the 19th Century, being one of those few and bright exceptions. America has been a bright light in the dark world of oppressors like Putin.

That’s why he likes Trump.

Of course. The people in charge of handing out the goodies always LOVE socialism. Especially since they live better than everyone else.

Socialism, communism, Marxism are loaded with great aspirations and ideals, one reason they tend to be popular among the young. Marx's stated objective was human actualization, after all. The conviction that only outside factors, and not the theory itself, are responsible for the consistent failure of the theory is something that can persuade the follower to ignore that failure for years.
Until the screams. That's what made a certain Russian general turn from Communism - he was passing by a prison one day and he heard the screams. If you really want to be a Marxist you have to learn to ignore the screams.

Killing your political enemies is not really who we are. But that is probably the change Hussein has in mind.

I’ve been saying this for years and plenty of FReepers have told me I’m crazy, that Putin is just a “nationalist”.

That wont shut up the pro-Putin trolls who say that Putin slammed Lenin. He only said that the Bolsheviks did it wrong, but in the end got it right.
Putin still wants to restore the USSR.

Also consider the fact that the USSR is the source of “liberation theology” and that the current Russian government still funds such aims.

I think Putin fears Trump and Cruz, but also wants a challenge. They are alphas. Putin knows that he can push Hillary around, and that Sanders would be pushed over easily and give Russia everything they want.

There is nowhere left on the globe to avoid communism and socialism.
The USSR fell, then we lost the Cold War.
