Senator Ted Cruz entire campaign, much like the credibility of Mark Levin, is built around his claim as “the most consistent conservative”.

The topic is “birthright citizenship”:

then you must go and rectify the definitions anyone can quickly pull up from some legal sources online.

Go get them to admit they are wrong and you are the legal expert instead.

The law in 1790 was repealed in 1795.

I am sure he has such documentation...

If he doesn't...AND...he renounced his Canadian citizenship, is he a citizen anywhere?

Is he a...A Man Without a Country?

Ted Cruz in an interview said that as a child, Cruz had asked his mother about Canadian citizenship and he said that his mother told him that she would have to apply for Canadian citizenship for him, not the father, but she, the mother. Now please do explain to me how a US citizen applies for Canadian citizenship for her minor child whose “lawful permanent” residence is in the US? ... Crickets ...

That was rude. I don’t launch a nasty attack and call our fellow freepers names when I disagree with them..and the last time I looked, name calling was against the rules.

He wants to CUT SS. My poor grandfather is barely scraping by as it is. He worked hard all his life and paid into SS.
They took his money. It’s his.

You’re pathetic. You don’t have any evidence, so all you can do is try to keep the issue alive using innuendo.

They are wrong. Birthright citizenship applies only to those born on US soil. Birthright Citizenship is the practice of granting automatic citizenship to children born in the United States. Under current federal law, nearly all children born in the U.S. receive automatic citizenship, regardless of whether their parents are lawfully in the country. This practice has created a magnet for foreign nationals who want their children to have U.S. citizenship and spawned creation of a cottage industry devoted to helping pregnant "tourists" illicitly enter this country for the purpose of giving birth.

Here is a good overview with plenty of citations on birthright citizenship

Now you are being silly. Cruz is a citizen. He probably got it when he was very young, no doubt before he left Canada for the US with his mother. You might want to read this article ignoring the source. It provides some interesting info on Cruz and his family

So is it down to Rick Perry, the fat guy from NJ, or John Kasitch? There’s also about a hundred other Republicans running for President but they probably couldn’t get elected if Moses decreed thus.

Cruz was a natural born Canadian citizen. No need to apply for anything. His Canadian BC was good enough.

Reagan made famous the Russian proverb: ‘trust but verify’? Well if the one who expects our trust will not allow us to verify his citizenship credentials by releasing them to us, then that means we should not trust that person.

You could not be more wrong. Citizenship flows through the mother by statute if the father is not a citizen. Cruz, citizen? Yes. Natural born? No way in hell.

I know that, you know that, however, there are a lot of politically blind that are allowing their blind leader to lead them off the cliff and into the pit of destruction.

Well, there's one who could. But if you don't know who, I'm certainly not going to tell you.

Well, I said you were ignorant, I did not call you an ignoramous now did I. They are two very different things.

And I am sorry to hear about your grandfather, however, ignorance of the law is no excuse and had your grandfather made the effort to know the law, he would have found out that he was not subject to the SS excise tax and he could have invested the money privately and retired a wealthier man. Sadly I have my own family members in the same boat your grandfather is in. And that is why, as Christians, we step in where the government will eventually fail as the bible teaches that we are never to rely on the government, it is the duty of the children to take care of their elderly parents and that is why we have prepared to do just that when the government pulls the plug on the sinking Ponzi scheme they created by their unlawful application of the SS excise tax.

Lame is searching desperately for minutia in a law for distinction that doesn’t exist. 1795 is silent on natural born.

The intent of the framers is clear in 1790, 1795 does not alter this. Any other definition would be common law.

Conservatives look for excuses to lose.

He doesn’t have to he as been since birth. Any TN supreme Court ruled Cruz is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

I’m becoming a fan of Jim Gilmore. His positions are pretty much in line with most Freepers.
