Any ground operation in Syria will lead to "a full-fledged, long war", Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told Euronews TV station in an interview.
Major powers agreed on Friday in Munich to a pause in combat in Syria, which killed at least 250,000 people. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said that if the peace plan fails, more foreign troops could enter the conflict.
Commenting on Kerry's words, Medvedev said: "These are futile words, he should not have said that for a simple reason: if all he wants is a protracted war, he can carry out ground operations and anything else. But don’t try to frighten anyone."
U.S. President Barack Obama has ruled out sending U.S. ground troops to Syria, but Saudi Arabia this month offered ground forces to fight Islamic State.
"Let me reiterate that no one is interested in a new war, and a ground operation is a full-fledged, long war," Medvedev said, according to a transcript of the interview with Euronews that was distributed by his office.

Still, both the Saudis and Turkey say they are ready to put troops in Syria. All they need is for the US to say "we have your back".
And, they're not going to hear that.

The Russians are interested in one thing alone...supporting and saving their ally on the Med. The Syrians have long been allied with Russia and provided them a warm water port on the Med. It is critical to the Russians.
Reagan, H.W. Bush, Clinton and G.W. Bush all found ways to accommodate Syria as long as they kept the peace with Israel...and they have.
Our going into Syria was part of Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s “”Arab Spring” fiasco where they hoped to overthrow leaders who backed the US and others (like Russia) in favor for Islamic solutions. It has failed and backfired horribly.
Luckily for us, the Egyptian military and people overthrew the Muslim Brotherhood who this president helped inflict on them...removing a long time US ally in the process.
IMHO, we should be working with Russia and others to WIPE OUT ISIS. ISIS is the abject creation of Obama’s failings in Iraq.
On that one thing Trump is wrong. ISIS and the Mid East turmoil ARE NBOT George Bush’s fault. As Carson said last night, Bush had defeated Hussein and stabilized Iraq before leaving. It is only because Obama short circuited to stabilizing force we had in country to allow the Iraqis to continue toward a strong secular, representative government, that ISIS was able to return there.
Pure and simple.
Obama and his feckless, disastrous administration, and Hillary and then Kerry’s handling of the State Department are the reasons things as like they are.
They provided a vacuum for first ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood to rush into...and then for Russia to get involved in helping their ally.
To hear Bush last night saying how he would get a coalition of Sunni’s was plain stupid.
So this mama’s boy wants to take the Sunni side when both sides are just as bad and then he wants to support the rebels who we are just as bad.
No more Bushes at all.

The Turks will then be entering something like their fifth war with the Russians hoping this one will be the charm and they will win.
The Saudis in the first few minutes ... those that survive ... practice their time-honored Yemeni maneuver wherein the drop everything and run ... hoping that by using the new ISIS invention - smearing themselves with mud - that it will both mask the color of their paints and be stealthy enough that the SU-24’s will not see them ...
Trump said it’s Bush’s fault that we got involved to begin with. He went on to say Obama screwed up and the way we pulled out was a mistake.
It only came out stupid because he's a lot bigger and more awkward than Saudi ventriloquists are used to.

what depresses me most is that he won so easily the second time.
there are MANY Americans who are dying to die or be maimed or raped by muslims or illegals and i dont know why.
do they not think it will be them?
i even try to understand biologically what synapses could form any idea other than muslim = death, torture and rape.

Jeb Bush goes to a ventriloquist show in Florence to relax from the stress of campaigning.

The Obama admin did more than leave a vacuum for ISIS to fill - they released the leadership from the Camp Buccaneers Detention Facility in Southern Iraq, and gave them a year to to reorganize, before pulling the US troops out.
They had released the leaders of Iran’s Shia militias as well, so they had an instant civil war prepared before the pullout.
We can expect some delayed fruits from the emptying of the Pandora’s Box in Guantanomo Bay as well.
