Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has fallen behind Ted Cruz in the national GOP horserace, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

In the poll, Cruz is the first choice of 28 percent of Republican primary voters, while Trump gets 26 percent. They're followed by Marco Rubio at 17 percent, John Kasich at 11 percent, Ben Carson at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 4 percent.

“That NBC/WSJ poll is an outlier by a lot. “

So far it is. FOX has one due tomorrow.

I agree. We have a long way to go before we have a nominee. Once some of the others drop out of the race those votes will be going somewhere.

I like all the Cruz and Trump polls. I like all the Republican candidates that were running. I thought it would be nice to have the top two run and have all the others assigned to a cabinet post once they won. I’m not concerned about who wins, all I’m concerned about is which one will defeat Hillary. When my Democrat relatives are supporting Trump because they can’t stand Hillary, its obvious as to which candidate will sway the voters to him. Sure Cruz is a great conservative, but just how many Conservatives are there to swing the election? 37-39% Democrats, about 31% Republican, and the remainder Independents and Conservatives. Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Conservatives are fed up with the DC crowd, and you want to run a straight Conservative? Hillary’s wuff wuff will become her hehehehehehehe with Cruz or Rubio. Remember NYS in 2000? It will be a repeat performance with Cruz or Rubio.

The Donald’s appeal is greater with the celebrity minded voting crowd. The male, female, mixed ethnicity, young and old, race, and religion voters will unite under Trump so long as he remains the hero of the silent majority. Its not going to be a low turnout with Trump, he’ll probably bring out a major portion of the Independents. I don’t have that fuzzy feeling with any of the other candidates.

So yes Brave Sir Donald learned.. to let others hold the bag when his ventures as he puts it “went into a chapter”

So you’re saying he pulled a Cruz? Like how career politician Cruz campaigned for Obama’s trade agenda and then cut and run when his cover was blown leaving others “to hold the (TPP) bag”.

The big liberal media will do anything to drive Trump out of the primary race. One of their favorite ploys has been pushing Cruz. This “poll” is absolute nonsense.

Strange comment when one considers all the Big Liberal Media polls that show Trump leading.

I’m reading that the poll switched its approach from previous months to arrive at these improved numbers for Cruz. It this wasn’t done Trump would have easily won.

It’s just one poll but it leans credence that this is a bit of what the current Trump Cruz feud is about.

Well if the 4.9 + or - wasn’t so high.......and the fact that it is only 400 people out of 320 million. I am sorry but it is a crap poll.

Only the NBC/WSJ poll has Cruz anywhere near the lead. So for now, it’s an outlier.

The last 13 Iowa polls had Trump winning by an average of 4 points.

I’d like it to be true. Donald Chump and his rabid, low information voters need to be beaten. However, The poll looks like an outlier.

Open primary yes, which is nonsense. Still, it’s what it is. Going by the latest SC polls, Trump is going to be very hard to beat. I am still going to expect Ted Cruz to outperform his polling numbers because of his solid ground game. Equally, I expect Trump to do worse than his poll numbers suggest. We will see in a few days.

Well, it's a good thing that Cruz supporters have something to cheer about and rally round.

It's healthy.

"What is a “primary voter”?"

Let them have their fun.

They need it and it's only fair to let them celebrate, knowing what the future brings.

“The big liberal media will do anything to drive Trump out of the primary race.”

Oh, you are absolutely wrong. The press loves Trump, because he’s reality TV and reality TV is ratings. They’d love to keep him in as long as possible.

Not to mention that Hillary will clean his clock in the general. From the national media’s perspective, that’s a win-win.

Haha yeah they are healthy alright! Desperate and delusional is no way to go through life! Seriously though, I think some Cruz supporters will do something drastic soon...like vote Trump in the general.
