The conspiracy theorist in me is that Petraeus' slap on the hand was designed to set precedent for a pardon of Hillary.

IOW, an indictment is looming, and Obama will issue a pardon once the indictment is made.

There are enough low information Democrat voters to put Hillary in the White House, it's just a matter of getting them to the polls.

——and are cashing US govt paychecks——

The modern way is to steal money from the treasury and have it end up in the Clinton Foundation from which it is dispersed to a corporation that disburses funds to other corporations that fund the payroll to Cheryl and Sid and et al.

The other issue with Hillary Clinton's illegal actions is they absolutely disqualify her as a Presidential candidate.

Even if it was only her staffers that transferred classified information to non-secure systems. Even if they removed the markings. Even if you believe she did not direct it nor knew nothing of it. (I know, stretching credulity past the breaking point) The fact that she went ahead and used that information in a non-secure environment disqualifies her for any senior position.

As Secretary of State she had "original classification authority." Meaning she was supposed to be able to (was even expected to) look at information and deem it classified. Only a select few (as in something like few dozen people) are granted original classification authority. Everyone else has "derivative classification authority." That is, they mark and handle things as classified based on classified sources or from classification guides.

The President grants original classification authority. The SecState has it. It is expected, no, required that people with original classification authority have the good judgement to look at information and determine "we should protect this as X" where X is confidential, secret, top secret, compartmented... By working with obviously classified information in a non-secure environment not just once, but literally hundreds of times Hillary Clinton has demonstrated either she lacks anything remotely like the good judgement required and/or she has a negligent disregard for proper handling of classified information and the harm such actions can cause the nation.

She should never be considered for a position of trust. At the very least she should be in prison for 20 to life. Standing her up against a wall in front of a firing squad shouldn't be out of the question either.

“There is no legal way to export and import classified data from one platform to another.”

Bump.

No way now how is Obama going to indict her.

The Dems may use the threat of indicting her as the big stick to get her to withdraw if her negatives don’t improve by Convention time.

I expect a long, hot summer of leaks from PO-ed intel sources.

Obama is deeply implicated--he knew she was using a private server and that there was no Inspector General at the State Department. She may have too much dirt on him for him to risk throwing her to the wolves, and he may believe she is the only Democrat who can win in November.

I have little confidence in Loretta Lynch. I'm thinking that if the FBI director recommends indictment, Obama will fire him for supposedly turning the investigation into a partisan witch hunt and appoint a black leftist as acting director (so that anyone objecting to that person can be dismissed as a racist)...and nothing would happen to Hillary.

Bill Clinton is now claiming the email controversy will help Hillary because when people read her emails they will discover what a wonderful human being she is.

"... Obama will issue a pardon once the indictment is made."
"I don’t think Huma Abedin is going to go down quietly."

I'm surprised that caliph 0bama has allowed the investigation to proceed even to this point. A well timed pardon prevents the necessity of Huma turning against Madam Benghazi and spilling more of the beans.

The low information dems will be told it is all part of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and everyone does it". Most don't know/understand what the fuss is all about (they have trouble even knowing what planet they're on) or the implications, and like the long line of clinton BS before it, they'll shovel it in with both hands.

Just noticed she dated the document in European fashion with the day first and the month second, even though the form calls for MM-DD-YYYY. Seems odd.

IMHO if Hillary’s indicted, pardon or no, she is total toast. Vote For Clinton, The Pardoned Criminal! is not a winning campaign slogan ;-)

The TOP SECRET information had to come from another network much more secure like JWICS, and there is NO DOUBT there were deliberate actions taken to circumvent its protections.

Politics aside, I think this whole episode illustrates the chaotic way data is classified and handled.

As I understand it the State Department email system that Hillary was supposed to use isn't cleared for classified data either. Does anyone doubt that there are millions of emails on that system containing the same kind of classified data found in her emails?

If Hillary had used the DOS email system and received the same emails she would be just as guilty.

I think the private server thing is a bit of a red herring.

It is true, either way, an unclassified network of whatever pedigree cannot be used to transmit classified information.

The point here is that this ‘woman’ intentionally set up, operated and HID a private network which did not come under the normal scrutiny unclassified DOS email would. NOR WOULD THERE BE ANY RECORD OF IT available to anyone except through HER or her lawyers (with plenty of time to slash and burn).

The very fact it was SHE who had the ability to delete emails of any flavor is the base reason she set up the network. To be able to erase incriminating evidence if she was found out. So, in my opinion, the “private server thing” is DEFINITELY NOT a red herring.

Politics aside, I think this whole episode illustrates the chaotic way data is classified and handled. I have dealt with classified information ever since I was 18 ears old up through today. The system isn't chaotic. It depends on honorable people who have been vetted to be such. The problem comes when dishonorable people are "vetted" by politics and favoritism and 'nomination' to high office. They are above the law in their eyes and those rules, regulations and safeguards are only impediments to their own ulterior dishonest and disreputable goals.

Agreed, it's definitely a problem.

My point was that the mishandling of classified data is probably thousands of times worse on the DOS system, simply due to the scale.

Creating and using the private server shows intent. She went out of her way to break the rules.

Hard to argue that. I just don't think it was the rules on classified data that she was trying to dodge.

We all know illary will not be charged as LL has already said her probe will go into next year (when she is out of office). Hopefully Trump will pick up what they dare not touch!

If the Libby trial is any indication, the jury pool will include friends and neighbors of Hillary/Huma etc....and maybe a few large donors to her campaign
