Canada Plans To Experiment With Giving People Unconditional Free Money

Finland and The Netherlands have already shown their interest in giving people a regular monthly allowance regardless of working status, and now Ontario, Canada, is onboard.

Ontario's government announced in February that a pilot program will be coming to the Canadian province sometime later this year.

The premise: Send people monthly checks to cover living expenses such as food, transportation, clothing, and utilities — no questions asked.

It's a radical idea, and one that has been around since the 1960s. It's called "basic income." In the decades since it was first proposed, various researchers and government officials have given basic income experiments a try, with mixed results.

Folks at the Basic Income Canada Network, the national organization promoting basic income, have high hopes.

"We need it rolled out across Canada, and Quebec, too, is in the game," said chair of BICN, Sheila Regehr, in a statement. "So there's no reason why people and governments in other parts of this country need sit on the sidelines – it's time for us all to get to work."

“You hear that all you illegal aliens from Mexico? Free money in Ontario! Go! We’ll help you pack! :-)”

Actually, illegal Mexicans had started to come north and stream across the border crossing at Detroit-Windsor until former PM Harper imposed a Visa requirement on Mexicans. Our new terrorist hugging, dope smoking, metrosexual PM Trudeau is going to revoke the Visa requirement. If I was the governor of a border state I’d be chartering a convoy of buses to take every last border jumper up to the Canadian border and tell them to fill their boots with Canadian welfare.

The Ontario provincial government is led by Trudeau gal pal Kathleeen Wynne, an openly lesbian politician who has run up massive deficits in our richest province, sowing the seeds for a fiscal collapse that is becoming more likely each day. Her “green energy” projects have caused Ontario to have the highest electricity rates in Canada or the US, which has precipitated an exodus of the few remaining manufacturers. She has just imposed a “carbon” tax, i.e. tax grab, and is all-in on the “global warming” fraud. The coming economic meltdown will be beyond the pale.

By way of comparison, the socialist State of California has an accumulated debt of $427 Billion ($11,000 per citizen). The Province of Ontario has an accumulated debt of $313 Billion ($22,000 per citizen). This 2014 study shows just how reckless the Ontario government has been, and it’s gotten even worse in the past two years. Tax and spend other peoples money. Then get stoned and let the taxpayers worry about it. The socialist answer to everything.

We could fashion it after the Berlin Airlift - and call it “Operation Taco Drop”

W gave the Katrina trash $2000 and they blew it on junk rather than to provide for their families. Women and booze, eh!

There are days, periods of life, where I loathe working. I work hard and it can be grueling. But I know that earning for oneself is not only a vital part of understanding the value of things, but being a productive member of society has many positive effects on a person.

This, like endless welfare and government programs that many use to scam cash out of the system, is to a society what unattended plaque is to teeth.

It's money that was taken, at gunpoint, from the Productive Class and then given to the Parasite Class, with the Ruling Class skimming off the top.

“Free money”?

The US government already does that as part of a larger startegy.

1- Just give people money so they don’t want to (or have to) work.

2 - Pass laws to prevent people from working and implement programs that limit the amount of hours they work.

3 -Then use the resultant manpower shortage as justification to allow hordes of illegals to enter the country.

“I’ve seen some studies indicating that eliminating the ‘middle-man’, ALL(local, state, federal) welfare departments and programs, and just giving the funding directly to recipients could save significant amounts of money in the long run. Of course how it is spent by said recipients is another matter.......”

That rational reasoning has been around for a long while. Even comes from the “conservative” side and “libertarian” side. Murray is libertarian, btw.

But since both major parties built Big Government, it is doubtful they have any interest in taking it down, except during election year speeches.

An article about “Basic Income”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_income

Here is even Dr. Milton Friedman

http://www.libertarianism.org/columns/libertarian-case-basic-income

These concepts and intellectual discussions used to be common but of late seem almost non-existent.

Rents will rise to reflect the rise in available money to pay rent, along with everything else. They will have to institute wage and price controls at the same time.

Alternatively they can print more money to keep up with inflation.

It’s based on the revenue, but yeah. Then again, some people can live on that in Alaska.
