Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China

Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China by Heather Long March 8, 2016 Donald Trump blasts companies like Ford and Apple for manufacturing products outside the United States. He even threatened to stop eating Oreo cookies after he learned some production was moving to Mexico. But Trump does the same thing.

Many of his products are made outside the United States. Most Donald J. Trump ties are made in China. Some Donald J. Trump suits are also made in China.

Donald J. Trump signature men's dress shirts are made in China, Bangladesh or "imported," meaning they were made abroad.

And it's not just Donald's products. Harvard professor and trade expert Robert Lawrence analyzed over 800 items in the Ivanka Trump fashion line. There are shoes, dresses, purses and scarves. All are "imported."

The top five countries that America imports clothing from are China (by far the leader), India, Vietnam, Pakistan and Mexico. Related: Trump tower's Chinese investors buy a path to U.S. citizenship

"In a recent debate Marco Rubio mentioned ties. But the ties made in China are just the tip of the iceberg," says Lawrence, who served on President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers.

Lawrence found that none of Ivanka Trump's clothing line appears to be made exclusively in the United States and 354 items are listed as made in China. Trump doesn't dispute this.

"I talk about my ties in speeches. I'm open. I say my ties many times are made in China," Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper in July.

"It's very hard to have apparel made in this country," Trump said.

Whoop de do.

You will look fabulous at Trump’s victory ball.

Oh, wait. You won’t be invited.

Even in your Italian suits, you are still a ‘little’ person.

Oh, BS.

All the free traders, China lovers here on FR have been BASHING the FEW of us who saw the mess these special interest trade deals are for 2 decades. They INSISTED business had to go to China, Mexico, Viet Nam so they could COMPETE. WE WERE RIGHT, the trade deals suck and we lost jobs. Trump is right! He wants to bring those manufacturing jobs back here....NONE of the other candidates do! Duncan Hunter is the only one in the GOP who dared to take this on like Trump is doing and good cheap labor Freepers and Limbaugh and Norquist/Rove/Bush did all they could to destroy him to insure manufacturing stays off shore.

Manufacturers had to locate off shore to be able to compete. Trump would have been a Moron to keep his products here and LOST MONEY.

He’s trying to save what TPA whores like Cruz THREW AWAY!

I think Trump is making the point that we need different rules so that US companies can compete with China.

Like what?

Maybe you should ask yourself why you are blaming Ted Cruz for President Bush’s policies instead of addressing the fact that Trump pretends to be against foreign manufacturing and yet does it himself.

So what is the con? If the establishment, world wide it now appears, did not believe that Donald J. Trump could do the things he has promised to do, then they wouldn’t be as upset as they are that he is winning!

<><><><

Somehow you have found the only story ever told that has only one side to it.

Which, of course, you haven’t.

It could be also, as many here have said, that Trump has the potential to make things much worse. That might have something to do with the wide array of forces against him.

Just a thought.

What Trump says about bringing biz back to America is echoed in all of our biz circles. We ALL want to see America competitive again. America is NOT competitive. That is exactly what Trump is saying! It’s a very consistent message.

Mama, honey. We know that. The point is your hero, Mr. Trump, decries foreign manufacturing and yet his own clothing lines are made in other countries.

He is a total liar and hypocrite.

When the Donald puts a stop to this foreign manufacturing, is he gonna give his own companies a pass?

Probably.

I agree with you. However, it IS the govt that sets the tariffs or lack of, and it IS the govt that allows the trade deficit with no consequence to China, or South America, or _____________ third world country here. We need to be competitive again, in the WORLD. That’s the point.

It is not a nothing burger.

It reveals what Trump will do for a buck.

Yes, most clothing is made elsewhere now and Trump is loudly condemning that.

While at the same time taking advantage himself of cheap foreign labor for his own clothing line.

Can you be any more devious than that.

Think about it for a New York minute, people.

Trump decries our lack of competitiveness on the world markets! Across the grid, our lack of competitiveness! It isn’t just clothes, it’s everything.

Can you explain what your big old lying graph has to do with Donald Trump’s companies taking advantage of cheap foreign labor?

Trump is condemning the fact the US is not competitive. Either you refuse to see it or you simply don’t grasp the concept.

You can buy 800 count Egyptian Cotton on line and in a few stores....very few. They’re expensive but worth every penny and last forever.
