My Letter to Ted Cruz

Good idea. Ted needs to listen to some reason instead of trying to do his part to divide the conservative base. We need to unite again.

Absolutely agree, Jeff. But, electing someone who has displayed a remarkable amount of...um...flexibility in the past almost ensures that we will not get what we want.

This election is too important to risk it, IMHO.

Oh and how delicious would that be as he presides over the Senate. How many of the old farts would retire because they can't stand him, that alone would be worth the price of admission. IMHO he offers more to Donald than he realizes as VP. I say it again, he would be the metaphorical "consigliere" like in the "Godfather" in terms of being the go to guy for Constitutionality of any major moves/policy changes that President Trump might be considering. That alone would drive Schumer crazy as Trump/Cruz takes away his platform to B!tch, as it would pass muster before they did it....

I agree with your statement that the only thing that can be assured to make a brokered convention unattainable is for either Trump to secure the 1,237 delegates to do so, or for Trump and Cruz to join forces to prevent it and I said so several weeks ago when Mitt Romney first reared his ugly head.

I fear however there's too much bad blood between Trump and Cruz at this point. Both have huge ego's and both want to win badly.

I do hope the Donald has better sense than to buy into such an agreement. I would loose instant respect for him. Why? He made a big deal out of obama’s birther issues, and then pointed out ted’s birther issues. If Trump takes on ted, that makes Trump just one more lying hypocrite, and I’ve had more than enough of THAT kind of crap. There would be absolutely NO point in voting for him.

It would be just as good to vote absolutely anybody else.

I chose/voted Donald because he shines above the rest. The key is...ABOVE the rest. I’d hate to see him join the rest in the GOPe toilet.

This is by far the BEST letter or comment written on Free Republic ever! EVER!
A month ago I would not have agreed. But at this point, we must save ourselves from the GOP-e and this may well be God’s Plan through it all.

In addition to letters to my own reps here in Idaho on specific issues, I have sent out the following three letters this year.

This one to Ted Cruz.

There have been some signs that both Trump and Cruz have already agreed to not let GOPe pull any shenanigans at the convention- FWIW.

Agreed, but it is all for not, as I think at this point Cruz would only serve to drag Trump into the mire with him...

Trump needs a special, untarnished person in the VP slot to round out the ticket!

I have no ideas, as Cruz was my prior choice, but I'm sure Trump & his team do ;-)
